What an hard week! Dar e in sfarsit sambata si sper sa nu mai am parte de o astfel de saptamana din nou. Desi nu am avut scoala, a trebuit sa alerg de la spital acasa, de la spital la asigurari si tot asa.:)) Apoi conservatorul- am reusit sa studiez numai 2 zile.UGH!In fine, sa uitam de astea si sa revenim la treburile noastre.

Despre ce vreau sa vorbim astazi?Ei bine, cred ca toti stiti ca sambata trecuta v-am vorbit despre Street Team-ul pe care il are Megan Crewe. Astazi m-am hotarat sa va spun parerea mea despre aceste ‘echipe’.

Normal ca sunt PRO! Iubesc cartile,iubesc blogging-ul,iubesc sa ajut autori si iubesc sa formez noi prietenii cu alti bloggeri.Plus ca, fiind intr-un Street Team, poti afla noutati despre o anumita carte mult mai repede.La ora actuala, sunt in vreo 4 sau 5 Street Team-uri si le iubesc pe toate! In ultima vreme vad ca tot mai multe carti “isi dezvaluie” copertile(ce ciudat suna,nu?lol).Si ce coperti…numai coperti superbe am vazut in ultimul timp si asta ma bucura.Vreau sa va arat si voua 3 coperti care imi plac la nebunie:

Coperta la care nu ma pot opri din holbat este coperta cartii “The Lives We lost” de Megan Crewe,volumul 2 din seria “Fallen World”( o serie superba!).Abia astept sa citesc cartea,sunt sigura ca ma va surprinde mai tare decat primul volum.Pana cand o voi citi,ma multumesc cu coperta…Sincera sa fiu,am ramas uimita de diferenta dintre coperta aceasta si coperta primului volum al seriei,”The Way we Fall”.Aceasta coperta e mult mai “dark” ,dar combinatia dintre culori e bestiala!La fel si leaganul acela care ma face sa ma intreb cu ce ne va mai surprinde autoarea.

Inca nu va pot oferi un sinopsis,pentru ca autoarea nu a dezvaluit descrierea cartii inca,dar sper sa apara si sinopsis-ul in curand.

Interview with Megan Crewe!

This is the third surprise!An interview with one of my favourite author,Megan Crewe.I hope you’ll like it!Thanks,Megan for your interivew! <3

1.For the start,tell us something about you.

I was born and grew up in Toronto, Canada, where I still live.  I’ve been making up stories since I was a little kid.  I love traveling and have been to the UK, France, Italy, China, and Japan so far.

2.”Give up th e ghost” is your debut novel,right?

It is!

3.How did the story come in to your mind?

One day I had an image pop into my head, of a girl talking to her sister like it was just a normal day, except her sister was a ghost.  I started wondering why someone would be so friendly with ghosts, and what she might learn from them, and the rest of the story evolved from there.

4.Do you have a favourite character from all characters in “Give up the ghost”?If yes,who is it?

Cass is probably my favorite.  I tend to pick the characters I’m most interested in as my main characters.  I like how she grows throughout the book, and her sarcastic sense of humor.  But I’m also very fond of Norris, who I think has a lot to him that I don’t get to share in the book.

5.”The way we fall” is fantasic!I love it!Tell us something about the second book from this serie,”The lives we lost”.

I’m so glad you enjoyed The Way We Fall!  The Lives We Lost takes place immediately after the end of The Way We Fall.  Other than one entry at the beginning, it’s not in journal format, but regular first person.  But it’s still from Kaelyn’s point of view.  And you will get to find out what’s happened to all of the characters from the first book.

6.When do you think it will be out?

I don’t have an official release date yet, but it will be next winter.

7. How did the story come in to your mind?

I had a nightmare after reading a book about a zombie virus, and afterward I remembered that the only other time I’ve had a nightmare based on a book, that book was also about a virus.  So I thought, hmmm, obviously viruses and epidemics scare me more than just about anything else.  I think we write the best stories when we’re writing about something that really gets to us emotionally, so I decided to explore the idea of a story set during an epidemic.

8.Which is your favourite book series or book?

It’s very hard to pick just one!  I think my favorite series right now is Megan Whalen Turner’s Attolia books.

10.Why?

The characters–especially the main one in most of the books, Eugenides–are fascinating and complex, and the story always manages to surprise me.  Also I really enjoy that the fantasy setting is based on Greek history rather than the more standard British medieval era.

11.From where does your inspiration comes?

All over!  Anything I see or hear can spark an idea.  I carry a notebook with me everywhere so I can jot down ideas when they occur to me.  I’m especially inspired by other stories–in books, movies, TV shows, and music.  I notice themes or conflicts that I think might be interesting to explore from a different angle.

12.Which is your favourite movie?

Again, it’s hard to pick just one, but if I had to, I’d probably go with The Princess Bride.  It’s one of the few movies I’ve seen where I can’t think of a single way it can be better, and it manages to be both very funny and have very real emotion, which is hard to find.

13.What do you think about “Twilight”?

I understand why it’s so popular.  I think Stephenie Meyer is very good at capturing the feelings you have as a teenager, falling for someone for the first time, not being sure where the relationship is going.  And of course the vampire element just makes that more exciting.

14.Did you ever want to be a mystical creature?

As a kid I liked to imagine discovering I had magical powers, or being able to shape shift into some sort of animal.  I still think it’d be pretty cool to do either of those things!

15.What do you think about Romania?

I’m very impressed by how many enthusiastic readers there are there!  I hear from Romanian book fans and bloggers all the time, and it’s really wondering to see people so excited about books.

16:What do you prefere: Romania or Greece?

Well, I haven’t been to either, so I can’t really have a preference.    I wouldn’t mind visiting both places some day!

17.But what about our literature?

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ve read any Romanian literature.  I’m not sure how many of your books are translated over here.  Sadly, North America likes to send its books all over the world, but it can be slow to pick up books and other media from other places. 

18.How did you became an author?

As I mentioned before, I’ve been making up stories pretty much my whole life.  I started thinking about becoming an author when I was around ten years old, because my teachers and friends were really enjoying the stories I wrote.  I realized maybe I was actually fairly good at it, good enough that I might be able to get published some day.  So I worked hard at improving my writing and coming up with new ideas, and then I sent those stories out to magazines and later, when I was writing whole books, to agents.  Eventually I was writing well enough that people wanted to publish my work.

19.And now…a selfish question: what do youthink about my  blog?

Of course I can’t read the posts, but I think it looks very nice!  I like the image at the top with the pieces of book covers, and the whole layout is very neat and easy to navigate.

“The Lives We Lost”-The first The way we fall sequel

Hey,guys!Look what I found out today!The title of “The way we fall” sequel!Oh,guys,am so excited about this!!!I can’t wait to read this book!!! <3

A few readers have been wondering whether The Way We Fall will have a sequel. Indeed it will! In fact, it will have two — it’s the first in a trilogy. (I didn’t actually intend to write a trilogy; it just sort of happened, as I explain here.)

Book 2 is written and edited and with the copyeditor right now. I was just working on the jacket flap copy (i.e., the book description) with my editor yesterday. Now, I’m not going to share that with you yet, because it gives away far too much about the first book. But I can now officially reveal the title!

The second book in the (not-yet-named) trilogy will be called…

The Lives We Lost

(I also know the title to Book 3, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet and probably won’t be until around this time next year. So all I can say is it follows the same pattern of The [noun] We [Verb].)

A few non-spoilery facts about The Lives We Lost:

-It begins with one last brief journal entry, and the rest of the book is in regular first person, from Kaelyn’s point of view.

-The reason it isn’t in journal format is that this book has quite a bit more action than TWWF, and I felt the format wouldn’t work believably with the story.

-The character Kaelyn sees at the end of TWWF plays a major role in this book.

-You will get to see what’s happening outside the island.

I’m so looking forward to getting to share more of Kaelyn’s story with you!

Ok,so.I know that I write already “The way we fall” ‘s review,but it was in Romanian .Because I said that I want to write more in English,I decided yesterday to make this review again,in English.
First,I want to thank to Megan for this book!
Second….I don’t know what to say to describe this book.’Cause I’m speechless!”The way we fall” is just ….AMAZING!!I mean,I knew that Megan is an awesome author,but I didn’t expect at this!
I read this amazing book in just one week,even if it’s in English.This is because of Megan’s style of writing.It makes you wanna read,and read,and read untill you don’t have what to read.Ok,I have to say:at the start,it can be a little boring,but as much as you read and you “discover”(or not-if you’ll read it,you’ll know what I mean.) you can’t stop reading and the book begins to be “unputdownable”
Do you want to know which is the best part of “The way we fall”?Well,the best part is that makes you see the life with another eyes.After you’ll read it,you’ll see how fragile the life is and how easy can we fall.
I love the way that the story is told:Kaelyn is writing in her journal some letters for her friend,Leo.This is a new style,and I like it!
I liked the characters.Kaelyn is the perfect main-character.Is strong,ambitious and the perfect friend.I felt a deep conection with her and ,sometimes,I felt what she felt,in a weird way.I don’t know how to explain exactly.The point is that I like Kaelyn a lot and I’m still wondering how  the story ends.I can’t wait for the second book(I found out that “The way we fall” is part of a trilogy,”Fallen World”,and I am so happy about this!) because the first book left me with some questions.
It’s interesting how the disease spreads.Also,the quarantine makes the story more believable and a little bit scarry…like a horror movie.Sometimes,I felt like I am part of a horror story and the author is Stephen King,not Megan Crewe.I liked this!
I have to told the story again?I think everybody knows it!Ok,in large: Kaelyn lives with her family on an Island.The things look a little bit boring ,when a disease strike the island.No one knows what is happening.A lot of people die,and the doctors are desperate.Then,the island is in quarantine,And the rest…is in book!Or,in the sinopsis.:))

It starts with an itch you just can’t shake. Then comes a fever and a tickle in your throat. A few days later, you’ll be blabbing your secrets and chatting with strangers like they’re old friends. Three more, and the paranoid hallucinations kick in.

And then you’re dead.

Da!Am tterminat-o!Si mi-a placut LA NEBUNNIEE!!!Chiar daca am citit-o in engleza,mi-a luat cam o saptamana sa o termin,pentru ca nu ma puteam opri din citit.Chiar daca a doua zi trebuia sa ma trezesc devreme,stateam pana tarziu si ieam.Nu ma puteam opri din dat paginile.

Desi la inceput poate fi putin plictisitoare,pana intri in poveste,m-am bucurrat,inca de la inceput,de fiecare cuvintel din aceasta carte…pentru ca imi place extrem de mult stilul in care scrie Megan Crewe!Are muullt talent!”The way we fall”  a fost,cu siguranta,mult mai buna decat prima carte a autoarei,”Give up the ghost” .Mai ales pentru ca te tine in suspans de 10 ori mai mult decat “Give up the ghost”.Nu neaparat pentru ca te astepti sa sara o fantoma de dupa colt ( nu,stati linistiti,nu e o carte fantasy) ,ci pentru ca nu stii ce se intampla.

Recunosc,au fost si unele parti lungite,care puteau,bine-mersi sa fie mai scurte.Dar o chestie de-asta aproape ca nu se pune,atuci cand restul cartii e WOW,nu?

Mi-a pacut foarte mult stilul in care este scrisa cartea asta: ca un jurnal.Kaelyn,personajul principal,ii scria prietenului ei cel mai bun,Leo-cu care s-a certat in urma cu doi ani si de care s-a despartit fara sa-si ia la revedere-intr-un caiet,toate gandurile ei si tot ce i se intampla.Mi s-a parut o idee foarte tare( ok,nu-mi place sa folosesc cuvantul ‘tare”  intr-o recenzie,dar e mai bine decat “cool”,nu?:)) ).

Sfarsitul cartii a fost cam in ceata,si m-a lasat cu multe intrebari.Autoarea te lasa sa deduci singura ce s-a intamplat.Totusi,trebuie o continuare,ceva.Sunt curioasa de ce s-a intamplat cu cateva personaje si cum s-a rezolvat situatia.Vreau un volum 2!

Kaelyn se muta inapoi pe insula in care a crescut,dupa ce a stat muulti ani in Toronto.Despartita de prietenul ei cel mai bun ,Leo,care a plecat in New York,fata vrea sa o ia de la capat.Sa fie cineva nou.La scoala este prietenoasa cu toata lumea si este mult mai indrazneata decat inainte.

In toiul acestor schimbari,niste chestii ciudate incep sa se intample: oamenii se comprta ciudat,nu se pot opri din stranutat,tusit si scarpinat.Mai apoi…mor.Tatal lui Kaelyn este doctor si o informeaza pe de toate astea dupa ce ea ii zice ca a fost la prietena ei Rachel,si ca tatal ei se comporta ciudat.Alarmat,tatal ii spune ca se confrunta cu ceva de care nu au habar .De asemenea,el ii spune ca tatal lui Rachel nu este singurul pacent cu aceste simptome.El le interzice fiicei si fiului lui(Drew) sa se mai duca la scoala.Mai tarziu,Kaelyn descopera ca Rachel se comporta la fel de ciudat ca si tatal ei.

Pe parcursul cartii,starea se va agrava.Insula intra in carantina: nimeni nu intra,nimeni nu iese.Curand,cetatenii insulei vor ramane aproape fara resurse,si fiecare trebuie sa se descurce cum poate.

Multi oameni mor.Medicii sunt disperati si incearca tot felul de lucruri ca sa combata ciudatul virus care le da de furca.Cand Kae credea ca lumea ei se duce de rapa,dupa ce mama ei moare din cauza acestei boli,in scena apare Gav,un baiat minunat,care ii va schimba viata.

Situatia este dramatica.Credeti ca medicii isi vor da seama ce se intampla si vor combate acest virus?Credeti ca Kae va scapa nevatamata ?Cum credeti ca se va “desfasura” relatia dintre ea si Gav?Va trebui sa cititi cartea ca sa aflati!

Inca o chestie despre carte:nu mi-am dat seama prea bine daca “The way we fall” e distopica sau nu.Banuiesc ca e.

Concurs!

Update:Am schimbat regulile concursului.Acum,tot ce trebuie sa faceti este sa lasati un comentariu la aceasta postare,pana pe data de 22 martie.Cei cinci castigatori vor fi alesi prin random.org.Primul care va lasa comentariu aici,din acest moment,va castiga automat un semn de carte cu “The way we fall”,dar si unul cu “Give up the ghost”.

Sa va explic de ce am facut asta: Acum,cand stau si ma gandesc la regulile vechi,i se pare aiurea sa va pun tot pe voi la treaba,dupa ce m-ati ajutat atat la concursul organizat de Megan.Asa ca m-am hotarat sa simplific lucruile.

Dupa cum am anuntat inca de ieri,azi vin cu un nou concurs!Premiul cred ca va va incanta…dar si regulile concursului sunt un pic mai grele.Nu va speriati,nimic din ce nu puteti face.

Acest concurs este un pic mai special.Adica un fel de concurs de ..hm…fidelitate.5 persoane,care vor fi cele mai “fidele” ,vor castiga cate un semn de carte cu “The way we fall”.Prin “fidele”,ma refer la cele 5 persoane care imi vor lasa cele mai multe comentarii in perioada concursului.Persoana care imi va lasa cele mai multe comentarii din momentul asta pana pe data de 22 martie,nu va primi numai un semn de carte cu “The way we fall”,ci si unul cu “Give up the ghost”!

Sper ca ati inteles ce trebuie sa faceti!Daca nu,sa imi spuneti!
