ARC Review: “Fruit of Misfortune” by Nely Cab (‘Creatura’ #2)

*The cover isn’t available yet.*

Let me kick off this review by saying that I was the 1st person  to rate ‘Fruit of Misfortune’ on GoodReads, and I feel very honored and happy to be able to do it. Nely, thank you so much for alowing me to read this book right after you sent it to the editor. You can’t imagine what this means to me, and I thank you for that.

The fact that Nely sent me a copy of the book has nothing to do with the rating or with the review. This is my honest review and opinion about a book I read, and m relationship with the author doesn’t influence it. Just had to make this clear.

Do you know that moment when you wait two years for a book, and when you finally get it, you read it in only 2 days? Two.freaking.days.! You read it, with your heart beating faster and you’re eyes shining because you love the characters so much and the story just sucks you in. And then you finish it. And it’s shocking, and heartbreaking, and you just hate the author, even if you love her, because she’s the reason why you have a new favorite series on your shelf.

Let me give you a glimpase into my mind the moment I’ve finished ‘Fruit of Misfortune’:  Blank. Total silence. And theeen….

WTF? What was this? Did this really happen? Ugh Nely I hate you! I can’t believe you did this to us! What was that cliffhanger? Why? I am… I just can’t… let me crawl in a ball and cry! Why did I finish it? Nely like OMG you need to write the 3rd book UGH I want that book. Why was this book so short OMG I want more I am so depressed I can’t I won’t I can’t

So this was it. This was my mind after finishing ‘Fruit of misfortune’. I was in complete awe and shock.

The reason behind my shock?

The end. That was… that was… such a HUGE plot twist. Such a surprise! I didn’t expect that! Nely, that was such a.. strike! It was so unexpected! That cliffhanger was even worse than the cliffhanger from the first book. You need to start writing the 3rd book, because you’ll have angry readers threatening to kill you if you don’t give them the 3rd book! Including me. J

Reading “Fruit of misfortune” meant always gasping in surprise. The 2nd book in the ‘Creatura’ series is so, but so different from the 1st book! While ‘Creatura’ is more of a love story, ‘Fruit of misfortune’ is a fantasy book, with lots of action and plot twists.

This time, Nely chose not to focus so much on the love story. She, instead, focused on the battle between Isis and the monster inside her or on her attempt to save everyone around her. And let me say, this change was so unexpected, but so welcomed! “Fruit of misfortune” is very, but very captivating! There’s always a plot twist, always some battle, always a secret revealed, always something that makes you gasp and make you turn the page.

Although I liked this change, I have to admit that I missed David, his romantic lines and the cute story between him and Isis. I missed them and the romantic scenes between them. I missed Galen and Eryx and their stupid, funny lines. This book is more intense and very captivating, but I still missed the romantic side of the 1st book.

The character development in this book was surprising. David was more mature, I think, and more real. But he was kinda absent in this book.  I don’t know why I felt this way. I felt like he was never there. But, as I said, this book is very different from ‘Creatura’, so David was always doing something, always trying to save Isis.

Oh, speaking of Isis. She got on my nerves. She was always stubborn, always whiny, depressed and so, so annoying! I don’t know what happened to her in this volume, but she was always getting on my nerves. She took some really bad decision, and she just wouldn’t listen to anyone. And omg, why did she do this to David?!

One of my favorite characters – also the new character in this series- is Galilea.! Such a badass! And that scene, in the wood! It was so funny! She was so cool, with her short hair and sassy attitude. Loved her.

O.M.G. The plot twists! The plot twists were so unexpected and so…so… mind-blowing!

Nely Cab did it again. She wrote a new brilliant book. But, she didn’t do just that. She took this series to a new level. While in ‘Creatura’ you can find an amazing love story, in ‘Fruit of Misfortune’ you can find more action than love. So, if you felt like ‘Creatura’ was too much of a love story for you, I think you should give ‘Fruit of Misfortune’ a try. You will be surprised, believe me. I didn’t expect the story to took such a drastic turn, but I loved it.

I can’t believe I read the 2nd book in the ‘Creatura’ series. I’m just, like, so sad to know that I need to wait another year or more for the 3rd book. I want it now!

I  definitely think this was a perfect sequel. It’s more captivating and more fun than the 1st book, and I loved this thing. I already miss David, Galen and Eryx, and I SO cannot wait to meet them again in the 3rd volume.

So, people. Go read this book. Now. Because there’s a lot of action, huge plot twist, some hot scenes *wink wink*, sexy characters and unexpected situations. And funny scenes.

Review: “Price of a Kiss” by Linda Kage

price of a kiss

*new adult romance*
**explict scenes and language**

I don’t care what my cousin says; I am not the queen of impossible relationships. I mean, just because my last boyfriend tried to kill me and left a bit of a scar on my neck, then forced me to move across the country and legally change my name to Reese Randall to escape him, does not mean—

Oh, who am I kidding? For a freshman in college, I have to have the worst dating track record ever.

It’s no wonder love is the last thing on my mind when Mason Lowe enters my life. But the chemistry between us is like bam! Our connection defies logic. And he’s just so freaking hot. Being around him makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt before. I even like bickering with him. He could be my soul mate…except for one teeny tiny glitch.

He’s a gigolo.

Boy, do I know how to pick them.

*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!*

OMG! I finishd this book a couple of minutes ag and I seriously feel de need to fangirl over it! I mean, seriousl! I freaking loved this book! It was PER-FECT!

“Price of a kiss” captivated me, in the first place, with its sexy cover and intriguing synopsis. When I got the book, I wanted to check out just the first page. But I couldn’t stop reading. After I read the first page, I turned the pages until I was 70% through it.

Linda’s writing, story and characters rocked my world for a day. I was completely in love with Reese by the end of the first chapter She’s one hell of a character! I loved her sense of humor and her sarcastic remarks. I loved her for being sooo me! Her protectiveness , love and loyality towards Mason and Sarah made me melt.

Linda’s writing-style is bestseller-like. I don’t know if this expression even exists, but it describes Linda’s writing and book very well. I know we will hear of Linda as a bestseller author. She totally deserves it.

“Price of a kiss” is a read I’ll never forget. It’s very unique and fun. I mean, seriously! How many times do you read a book about a gigolo and still thinks it’s one of the most beautiful, full-of-emotions book? This is because “Price of a kiss” isn’t an annoying book where the main characters hook up in the 2nd chapter and they talk only about sex and there are a tons of steamy scenes. No. “Price of a kiss” is a book about friendship, about dealing with your demons, about supporting the one you love, about trust and about love. This book taught me that I shouldn’t judge the cover or the  appearance. It showed me, again, how hard and unfair life is.

There were scenes of all kinds in this book. Funny scenes, intense scenes that made me cry, action-filled scenes, fight scenes and even a steamy scene. In less words, “Price of a kiss” is a book that has everything I’ve ever wanted from a ook.

Reese and Mason. I loved them together! They are perfect for each other! They are both funny and the banter between them made me laugh so hard! The sexual tension and chemistry between them was palpable. I loved how they tried to resist each other. I had to wait so long for a kiss! I loved how they understood and loved each other. There was a time in the book when I was afraid that nothing will happen between them, but the ending (not only the ending) made me completely happy.

The last 90% of the book made my heart beat faster. It was full of action and suspense! Loved it! The epilogue was perfect, btw.

I couldn’t find any flaws in this book. So, to describe ‘Price of a kiss’, I’ll use the word “flawless”.

‘Price of a kiss’ is the kind of book that makes your blood boil. This book is also the kind of book that makes you put down every ook that you’r reading and pick up this one. Absolutely loved it! People, start reading this book! You won’t regret it, I promise!

I am totally happy to say that I rate this flawless book with 6 stars out of 5! ❤

Review: ‘Losing Connor’ by Amanda Alberson

losing connor

At 17 Cassandra Coven made the heart wrenching decision to give her baby up for adoption. When her boyfriend Declan couldn’t handle the choice he walked away from their relationship. Years later both Declan and the baby she gave away are thrust back into her life. How will Cassie deal with coming face to face with her past regrets, and can she handle losing them again? Follow Cassie on an emotional ride through her past and into her future.

*I was provided with a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!*

“Losing Connor’ is a book that impressed me. It’s a short book- about 140 pages- but it helds so many things between these pages that it’s overwhelming. And I loved it. I read it in one sit and loved every minute of it.

The scenerio may seem a clichee. Two teenagers fall in love, the girl gets pregnant. This time, the scenerio changes a bit. The girl is the one who refuses to rise the child, even though the boy loves her and wants to be with her forever. I have to say that I really appreciated this change. Usually, the boy is the one that leaves. But Amanda chose to be different and slightly changed the story.

There is so much dramatism and emotions in this book that it’s overwhelming sometimes. I couldn’t not cry! I mean, serious, the feelings were so well described that I felt every.single.thing. that Cassandra “Cassie” Coven felt. So yes, “Losing Connor” is a huge emotional rollercoaster that will make you cry.

The story is very captivating from the start. After I started it, I found myself looking forward to reading the book again every time I had to eat or talk with my mom. I was really curious to see what happens between Cassie and the lovely Declan. And I wanted to see what will happen with Connor as well.

I liked the way Amanda told us Cassie and Declan’s story. One chapter was in the present and the next was 5 years earlier. It was very interesting!

I didn’t agree with Cassie and her decision of giving her baby. I mean, that was Declan’s kid too! If he proposed to her and he got a job and her mother could’ve help them out, then things weren’t so complicated as she thought.

I was pretty happy with the ending. Except… well, yeah. Connor. I wish… well, I should shut up. If I’d tell you what I wish, it will be a huge spoiler.

“Losing Connor’ is an amazing book about mistakes, second chances, love and drama. It showed me that true love enver dies and it always wins.

Review: ‘The Edge of Never’ by J.A. Redmerski

the edge of never

*I was provided with an ARC of this book from the publisher. Thank you!*

Hm… I just… it’s so hard to write this review. It’s been a week since I finished this book and I can’t get over it. It left a huge mark on my and I’ll need some time to be able to think about it without crying.

This book, ‘The Edge of Never’, was perfect, in my opinion. It’s one of those books that you absolutely love and you just want to sit down and read until you pass out, but you don’t. You don’t read too much in a day, because you are too afraid that you’ll finish it quickly. You are afraid of saying Goodbye to the characters, to the story, to the author.

This book is perfect for several reasons: it’s different. I mean, how many books are out there where the main characters are falling In love in a road-trip? The characters are ah-maizing! OMG, I’ll detail it later. There are so many things happening in just 465 pages that you don’t have time to breathe. This is such an intense and emotional book! I cried my eyes out so many times!!

I received this book in May or April. May I think. When I received It I was very excited and wanted immediately to read it!! But I had to put it down for some reasons. Then… I was a little afraid to pick it up again. No, I wasn’t afraid that it would disappoint me.  I was afraid that I would be heartbroken, that I will fall in love so much with the characters that it would be too hard to put it down.

Well, yes. I fell in love with the characters and it was hard to finish this book. I was down for an entire day after I finished it and nothing could bring me down. And the fact that I have to wait until November (November?! Are you kidding me?) makes me cry.

As I said, the book is very different. It started out as a normal book. A broken girl is afraid to love. Her best friend tried to hook her up with someone, but she refuses. Her best friend’s boyfriend tries to hit on her and when she tells her best friend about this, she calls her a ‘lying bitch’. So Cam lost everything. She runs away, and on her way to nowhere, she meets her save. And this is where the unique part starts. Andrew is a sexy-as-hell guy but he’s as broken as Camryn. They try to reasist the chemistry between them, but the heart always gets what he wants. What I found so different about this is the scenary these things happen: on a road-trip. I’ve never read a book like this before but it was amazing!

The character? Well… this is the best thing about the book. No, actually, this book doesn’t have a ‘best things’. Everything about ‘The Edge of Never’ is a ‘best thing’. But the characters… well, they are my favorite characters ever.

Camryn. She’s smart. Funny.Independent. Borken. Caring. Broken . Loving. Broken. She has a though past but this is the thing about her. I don’t think she would’ve been the same if she would’ve been a spoiled brat. Her past made her strong, special. I love her presonality so much!

Andrew. He’s sexy. Broken. Smart. Borken. Funny. Sexy. Charming. Borken. Strong. Sexy. He’s got tattoos. He’s always flirting. He’s dominating. He’s caring.Loving. Lovely. He’s everything a girl could want. But he’s… not as strong as he seems. And I’m not talking about his personality.

Camryn and Andrew. I haven’t seen a stronger and more obvious chemistry than their chemistry. They were made for each other. Andrew is everything Camryn can’t be. Camryn is everything Andrew can’t be. They are two piece of a broken heart.

This was such an emotional roller coaster for me and I think for everyone. I laughed. I cried. I screamed.I kicked.I giggled. I was in love.I hated. I felt everything a human being can feel. But mainly I was laughing. The banter and flirt between Andrew and Camryn was so funny, but in the same time it was so deep and meaningful that I was laughing and crying in the same time. This is a book of an amazing depth that you don’t find anywhere.

The Edge of Never is not just a deep, funny or heart breaking book. This is sexy as hell. There were some scenes…. Holy cow! Incredible!

So many things happening here… well, I’ll say just this. When everything seemed to be all right, BAM! That plot twist made me screams, kick, and cry. I couldn’t believe that J.A. did such a thing to one of those wonderful characters!

Speaking about the author… well, she was born to do this. Her book screams talent. She was made to do this. She was born to write this book. J.A. is one of the best author we have. She makes her world so believeble, her characters so real, the relationship between her characters so realistic that I was wondering sometimes if this really happened.Plus, her writing-style… Jesus!I don’t have words to describe it. Just read the book and find by yourself.

I can’t tell you how much I loved this book. It’s brilliant!! It deserves more than 5 stars!! But… November? Seriously?Ok then, I’ll read J.A. other books.

Now.You.The One reading this. Stop everything you’re reading, put you’re currently readint title down and pick this up. You won’t regret it, like I didn’t.

Review: ‘Tangled’ by Emma Chase

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

First time I found ‘Tangled’ on GoodReads, the book didn’t catch my eyes. So I kind of said ‘Nope, this one’s not for me.’ Then, the second time I clicked on the title, I read the reviews. And I knew that I had to read it.

Well, to be honest, ‘Tangled’ has exceed my expectations. How can I describe ‘Tangled’? I think ‘funny’ and ‘hot’work the best. I loved reading it because it has almost everything: a funny, charismatic, hot main character, an unique writing style, lots of steamy scenes and a love story that’ll make you giggle.

It was definitely… interesting, let’s say, to read a book from a male POV. I can say that you can learn some things from this book. Of course, some of the things semed exaggerated. But I really liked some of his thoughts.

Why I loved this book? Because it made me laugh hard. Drew’s thoughts and the way he spoke made me LOL. He was so full of himself that some times I wanted to punch him, but mainly I loved how funny and charming he was.

Katherine? Well, she’s another story. I don’t think I’ve ever loved and respected a female character as much as I loved her. God, she’s so strong, determinated and she never, ever takes bullshit from anyone. I liked her personality so much!! She’s one of my favorite character ever!

Basically, ‘Tangled’ is a fast-paced book, with lovely characters and real situations and an unique voice. I  read it in just one day because it kept me hooked. The  characters and their destinies made me wanna read until the last page in one sit.

I’ll give ‘Tangled’ 5 stars. Great read, loved it! 🙂

Book Review: ‘Unraveling’ by Micalea Smeltzer

Katy Spencer’s life fell apart two years ago. Since then, she’s closed herself off. She’s a shell of the person she used to be. The only person she trusts is her best friend Rollo, but even he can’t keep the nightmares away. Then she meets Jared. He’s the first man she’s been around since the event that she’s not afraid of. He makes her heart race, not in fear, but in a fluttering that could become something meaningful.
Jared can tell that Katy is broken. He sees something in her eyes that he’s often seen reflected in his own.

Jared is determined to get to know her.
He wants to solve the mystery of Katy Spencer.

He will… unravel her.

I received a free copy of this book from Micalea. Thank you so much!

To be honest, I remarked ‘Unraveling’ a few weeks ago and I immediately wanted to read it. First, the cover is stunning. Simple, but so beautiful! Second, the synopsis drew me immediately. I knew I had to read this book because it is different and something was just screaming ‘This book is awesome!’ .

When I received this book, I couldn’t wait to start it. I wanted to read just a few pages, to make an idea, but I couldn’t put it down. Once I started I couldn’t stop reading.

Honestly, I’m super glad I read it because…. OMG, I LOVED.LOVED.LOVED.IT! How can I describe this book? ‘Unique’. ‘Unraveling’ is unique. It’s beautiful. It’s sad. It’s beautiful written. It’s everything I want from a book.

From the first chapter, Katy’s story and personality captivated me. Her sadness broke my heart, but also hooked me, in a way. I didn’t know the reason behind this sadness and I wanted to find it want. And when I did, I was so anger with that idiot that did this to her that I wanted to rip his head off!! And Katy’s mother… UGH!

The characters are so strong that I could actually feel them. Like they were real persons. Like I knew them. Like they were my best friends and I knew them so well. This rarely happens to me. So, the characters are  strong points at this book. They are well created and each one of them has a story that needs to be told. I want to read a special book for each one of the characters, but I am very happy that I’ll get a book about Holden and Karlie.

My favorite character? Well, I loved (like litarelly loved) all of them. But the best scenes were those when both Karlie and Rollo were in. I mean, Karlie is a genius! She’s smart, funny and she always says what she thinks, but there is something that makes her sad. And that something is also one of my favorite character .

Rollo? Don’t get me started! That ‘boy’ is one of the best character e.v.e.r.! Like e.v.e.r.! He’s (why did I wanted to write ‘she’) sooooo funny and adorable that I loved him from the start. You know why I love gays in books? Because they are perfect. I’ve always wanted a friend that is gay, but it’s a little hard to find one. So I guess I’ll just keep Rollo.Oh, I loved how protective he’s toward Katy and how much he loved her.

Jared? Well… this is another subject. He’s sexy, but not a bad boy. He’s kind, protective, gentle, smart and… he has a story that broke my heart. I loved how he waited for Katy, how much he loved her and how perfect they were together.

There are some beautiful and romantic quotes in this book. In fact, Micalea’s writing is so beautiful and everything she writes has a deep meaning that I rarely find in books.

‘Unraveling’ is one of those books that stays with you while you’re reading it and loooong after you read it. I was so into the story and I cared so much about Katy that I had a nightmare. It was actually kind of weird, because I felt like I was Katy. And I was living ‘the event’. This never happened to me before.

I loved the ending! It was so sweet and perfect!! That was an ending that I liked!

I have to recognize that the only thing that I didn’t like about this book is the editing. This book should go through another round of editing, because I found a lot of punctuation mistakes and there were some words that I found a million times.

I can’t wait for Micalea’s next book, that one with Karlie and Holden. I bet I’ll love it as much as I loved this one.

‘Unraveling’ is a special book that will always have a place in my heart. I wish I could read it again, but unfortunately, I can’t. Not right now, at least.

Strong characters, heart breaking story, beautiful love story and a super talented author. 5 stars out of 5. 🙂

Review: ‘Losing It’ by Cora Carmack

losing it

Love. Romance. Sex. There’s a first time for everything…

As far as Bliss Edwards can tell, she’s the last virgin standing, certainly amongst her friends. And she’s determined to deal with the ‘problem’ as quickly and simply as possible.

But her plan for a no-strings one night stand turns out to be anything but simple. Especially when she arrives for her first class and recognises her hot new British professor.

She’d left him naked in her bed just 8 hours earlier…

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

General opinion: “Losing It” it’s the perfect book if you are in a bad mood and you want to laugh. It’s probably one of the funniest book I’ve read this year so far – funny protagonist, funny situations and funny dialogues that will make you laugh until you have cramps. I really needed a sweet, short book like “Losing It” in the period that I read- while moving into a new house. I read it in just one day, even if I had a lot to study for my exams and had a lot of stuff to unbox.  So, yes, as I think you’ve already understood that I loved it!!

What I liked the most: The protagonist. I just LOVED her!! She was so funny and she always said the funniest things in the weirdest moments and I couldn’t not love her. She’s one of my favorite character from all the books I read this year. I’d read the book again just because of her.

And Garrett. Excuse me, but everything about him screamed “Love me!Love me!”. He’s  one of those male characters that every reader of female gender loves – British, with a super adorable (and hot) British accent that you can’t resist to, and very beautiful. Did I make you wanna read the book already?

I also loved, as I said before, the humour that I found in this book. Everything made me laugh- the dialogues between protagonist and Garrett, the situations, the characters, everything.

Other good things: The book is very easy to read and very entertaining. The action and the complications of situations hook you and it’s hard to put down the book.

The characters are very well created, likable and realistic. Even Bliss’s cat has a very well portrated characters.

The book can also make you cry. The love story is amazing and kind of complicated.and some scenes are sad. So the book has everything- humour, sadness and amazing characters.

What I disliked: Thinking about it, I can’t find anything that I disliked.

Final opinion: Either are you in love or not, you have to read this book. It’s worth the time you spent reading and I bet you’ll love it. You can’t not love it. It’s just perfect.

I recommend it to: Everyone.

Would I read it again: Sure thing!

Do I want to read the sequel: Do you have to ask? Yup, sure I’d like to read the sequel.

Short Review: “Deus” by Nely Cab

Thank you,Nely, for sending me an ARC of this copy!

“Deus” is a short story, prequel to Creatura by Nely Cab. Amazing story, I loved it!! It’s a quick read, you can read it in just one hour. But it’s very captivating, introducing us in the world of Creatura. Nely’s writing-style is different from the one in Creatura, but as good as the one in Creatura. Of course, the book is written from Deus’ point of view so the difference is normal and I find it great.

As for the story, I found it adorable, sad and interesting. It was quite weird to read a book where the main subject was the creation of Terra and humans. “Deus” is not a just a fantasy book, but a book that you can understand things about life, people and love. Speaking of love, Deus and Starr were cute from the start!!

Oh yeah, and I loved Starr from the start. She had moments when was childish, but she als had moments when ‘maturity’ was written all over her! Such a complex character!

I definitely recommend “Deus’. It’s a quick, fun, lovely short story written by Nely Cab. You should pick it up before you read “Creatura”. Oh, just read one of them, you’ll love Nely’s books.

5 stars out of 5

It’s the dawn of time and Deus is in charge of creating the entire Universe…only, creating things for no one but him to see is a bit pointless and truly lonesome. Deus molds Starr as a companion, but she could care less about Deus’s creations, being oblivious to the importance of it all. As if he didn’t already have the entire weight of the Universe on his shoulders—literally—now, he has to deal with an irritable and beastly girl. Deus might be immortal, but he fears Starr will be the death of him. In this never-ending love story, the fate of the future is anything but child’s play…or is it?

Deus is a prequel novella that expands and enriches the realms in the Creatura Series by Nely Cab. The story will appeal to present fans and welcome new admirers to its world.

Review: My Ex From Hell by Tellulah Darling

my ex from hell

Thank you to Netalley and Te Da Media for giving me the opportunity to read this book. 🙂

General Opinion: Please, lett me finish laughing first. Oh my, this was an incredible book!! Though I finished it a few days ago, I’m still laughing when thinking about it. “My ex from hell” it’s a very funny, captivating book!! Amazing!! I’d re-read it any time.
What I liked the most: When I read the first pages, I was very surprised with hw funny it is and how much I liked it. So, the thin that I iked most was the humor that I found in “My ex from Hell”. I’m in a very stressful period now and this book was exactly what I needed.
I loved, loved, loved the characters! They were so funny and well created and probably some of my favorites characters ever!!I loved Bloom because she knew how t handle a difficult situations and she always had a funny remark to give. Can’t wait to read the next book so I can “meet” her again. 🙂
The story is very complicated, so very captivating. The world-building is great, Tellulah obviously knows how to write a book so their readers can enjoy it. Every detail in the story is well thought and the result is a very good story.
Other great things: The editing is perfect. I don’t think I found any mistake, fact that made me enjoy the book even more.
I loved the fast-paced action that kept me reading. 🙂
The book is easy peasy to read.
I love books with cliffhangers. “My ex from hell” has one. So yeah, I loved this thin.
I loved how the author thaught us about the Greek Mytholoy, Gods and Goddesses. She brought the mythology in the modern days in a way that fascinated me.
Because I live in Greece and I speak Greek very well, it was kind of fun to see names and words in Greek. I was also pleased when I saw that every chapter had a latter of the Greek alphabet in the beginnig.
What I disliked: Basically… I think….uhm…nothing.
Final Opinion: Just get me the 2nd book already!! I can’t wait to read it!!! I loved “My ex from hell” and I really recommend it!!!Great characters, amazing world-building, a super talented author, a captivating story, and hot Gods. What do you want more? Just read it and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
I recommend it to: Every bookaholic on this planet.
Would I read it again: What do you think? Of course I’d read it again!
Do I want to read the sequel: Please read the “Final Opinion” and find the answer.

Sixteen-year-old Sophie Bloom wishes she’d been taught the following:

a) Bad boy’s presence (TrOuBlE) + teen girl’s brain (DraMa) = TrAuMa (Highly unstable and very volatile.)
b) The Genus Greekulum Godissimus is notable for three traits: 1) awesome abilities, 2) grudges, and 3) hook-ups, break-ups, and in-fighting that puts cable to shame.

Prior to the Halloween dance, Sophie figures her worst problems involve adolescent theatrics, bitchy yoga girls, and being on probation at her boarding school for mouthy behaviour. Then she meets bad boy Kai and gets the kiss that rocks her world.

This breath stealing lip lock reawakens Sophie’s true identity: Persephone, Goddess of Spring. She’s key to saving humanity in the war between the Underworld and Olympus, target numero uno of Hades and Zeus, and totally screwed.

Plus there’s also the little issue that Sophie’s last memory as Persephone was just before someone tried to murder her.

Big picture: master her powers, get her memories back, defeat Persephone’s would be assassin, and save the world. Also, sneak into the Underworld to retrieve stolen property, battle the minions of Hades and Zeus, outwit psycho nymphs, slay a dragon, rescue a classmate, keep from getting her butt expelled from the one place designed to keep her safe …

… and stop kissing Kai, Prince of the Underworld.

My Ex From Hell is a romantic comedy/Greek mythology smackdown. Romeo and Juliet had it easy.

Short Review: Bright Eyes by Madison Daniel

bright eyes

Michael has a secret.

A dark and haunting secret. One night. One date. One nightmare come to life.

Get lost in a short story of young love/lust, music and horror.

BRIGHT EYES: What lovely eyes you have…

I received a free copy of this book in exchange on an honest review. Thank you,Madison!!!

I’m still grinning like an idiot after reading the “A special thank you” list. My name was in there!! My freaking name, Bianca Calin. I’m so honored and excited,I can’t stop smiling. It’s just incredible and totally unexpected!!

Coming to the book, “Bright Eyes” took me by surprise. It’s very dark and scary, very different from “Ember”. The author proved once again that he’s talented and that he can write anything. Love stories, horror stories, fight scenes, everything! And he writes better and better with every book.

I read “Bright Eyes” in just 20 minutes. It’s a quick, captivating and very scary read. Everything is desribed with enough details and you can imagine everything in your head. This is what scared me. Those things were as scary as Hell. But I liked it!

I really need a sequel, because the end left me with a question. What is going on with Michael??!!

In “Bright Eyes”, Madison shows his dark side.So if you read his other books and wanna read something that will show you, again, what an amazing author he is. I recommend this short story to everyone, I loved it!! Buy it, read it, love it!
