ARC Review: “Fruit of Misfortune” by Nely Cab (‘Creatura’ #2)

*The cover isn’t available yet.*

Let me kick off this review by saying that I was the 1st person  to rate ‘Fruit of Misfortune’ on GoodReads, and I feel very honored and happy to be able to do it. Nely, thank you so much for alowing me to read this book right after you sent it to the editor. You can’t imagine what this means to me, and I thank you for that.

The fact that Nely sent me a copy of the book has nothing to do with the rating or with the review. This is my honest review and opinion about a book I read, and m relationship with the author doesn’t influence it. Just had to make this clear.

Do you know that moment when you wait two years for a book, and when you finally get it, you read it in only 2 days? Two.freaking.days.! You read it, with your heart beating faster and you’re eyes shining because you love the characters so much and the story just sucks you in. And then you finish it. And it’s shocking, and heartbreaking, and you just hate the author, even if you love her, because she’s the reason why you have a new favorite series on your shelf.

Let me give you a glimpase into my mind the moment I’ve finished ‘Fruit of Misfortune’:  Blank. Total silence. And theeen….

WTF? What was this? Did this really happen? Ugh Nely I hate you! I can’t believe you did this to us! What was that cliffhanger? Why? I am… I just can’t… let me crawl in a ball and cry! Why did I finish it? Nely like OMG you need to write the 3rd book UGH I want that book. Why was this book so short OMG I want more I am so depressed I can’t I won’t I can’t

So this was it. This was my mind after finishing ‘Fruit of misfortune’. I was in complete awe and shock.

The reason behind my shock?

The end. That was… that was… such a HUGE plot twist. Such a surprise! I didn’t expect that! Nely, that was such a.. strike! It was so unexpected! That cliffhanger was even worse than the cliffhanger from the first book. You need to start writing the 3rd book, because you’ll have angry readers threatening to kill you if you don’t give them the 3rd book! Including me. J

Reading “Fruit of misfortune” meant always gasping in surprise. The 2nd book in the ‘Creatura’ series is so, but so different from the 1st book! While ‘Creatura’ is more of a love story, ‘Fruit of misfortune’ is a fantasy book, with lots of action and plot twists.

This time, Nely chose not to focus so much on the love story. She, instead, focused on the battle between Isis and the monster inside her or on her attempt to save everyone around her. And let me say, this change was so unexpected, but so welcomed! “Fruit of misfortune” is very, but very captivating! There’s always a plot twist, always some battle, always a secret revealed, always something that makes you gasp and make you turn the page.

Although I liked this change, I have to admit that I missed David, his romantic lines and the cute story between him and Isis. I missed them and the romantic scenes between them. I missed Galen and Eryx and their stupid, funny lines. This book is more intense and very captivating, but I still missed the romantic side of the 1st book.

The character development in this book was surprising. David was more mature, I think, and more real. But he was kinda absent in this book.  I don’t know why I felt this way. I felt like he was never there. But, as I said, this book is very different from ‘Creatura’, so David was always doing something, always trying to save Isis.

Oh, speaking of Isis. She got on my nerves. She was always stubborn, always whiny, depressed and so, so annoying! I don’t know what happened to her in this volume, but she was always getting on my nerves. She took some really bad decision, and she just wouldn’t listen to anyone. And omg, why did she do this to David?!

One of my favorite characters – also the new character in this series- is Galilea.! Such a badass! And that scene, in the wood! It was so funny! She was so cool, with her short hair and sassy attitude. Loved her.

O.M.G. The plot twists! The plot twists were so unexpected and so…so… mind-blowing!

Nely Cab did it again. She wrote a new brilliant book. But, she didn’t do just that. She took this series to a new level. While in ‘Creatura’ you can find an amazing love story, in ‘Fruit of Misfortune’ you can find more action than love. So, if you felt like ‘Creatura’ was too much of a love story for you, I think you should give ‘Fruit of Misfortune’ a try. You will be surprised, believe me. I didn’t expect the story to took such a drastic turn, but I loved it.

I can’t believe I read the 2nd book in the ‘Creatura’ series. I’m just, like, so sad to know that I need to wait another year or more for the 3rd book. I want it now!

I  definitely think this was a perfect sequel. It’s more captivating and more fun than the 1st book, and I loved this thing. I already miss David, Galen and Eryx, and I SO cannot wait to meet them again in the 3rd volume.

So, people. Go read this book. Now. Because there’s a lot of action, huge plot twist, some hot scenes *wink wink*, sexy characters and unexpected situations. And funny scenes.

“Reckless” is a book that you need to read when you are bored of all those cheesy, sappy New Adult novels. Why? Because it makes ou realize that there is still hope for New Adult authors. There are still talented authors that write because this is what they like to do, not because it’s cool.

I have to recognize, even though the story hooked me from the beginning, my first feelings for the book after reading the first pages were like ‘Meh, I don’t know.’ Milly annoyed me to pieces. I couldn’t believe how stupid she was. How could she allow Pierre to treat her like that?! And why? Also, it seemed a little bit like a shallow story, about a girl who whores aroung and gets treated like shit. But, after Milly is sent to live with her aunt, the situation changes. Milly is not stupid anymore. The story is nowhere near shallow. And from a feeling of meh-i-don’t-know I came to a feeling of OMG-blown-away!

I appreciated a lot of things at this book, but what I loved the most about it is that is different. Let me tell you some examples. What broke Milly wasn’t a bad experience with a guy. It was the death of her twin. Oh, and Jeremy wasn’t just abs. It was his eyes that Milly was crazy about. And the list could go on.

The story may seem sad, heart breaking. It isn’t. This book did not make me cry. Yes, it’s a tragic story. Yes, it made me sad, but it also made me feel joy. It made me smile. Milly’s story isn’t just tragic. It’s also a beautiful story about learning how to live again. It’s a beautiful love story that warmed my heart.

Uf, I have so much to say about ‘Reckless’!

This book taught me that coping with my feelings is the best thing I can do. It taught me that there is always hope. Milly’s journey through fining herself also taught me not to give up. There’s always someone or something that will save you even when you don’t want to be saved.

The plot is very hooking an easy to ‘get along with’. I was hooked by Milly’s story immediately after I started reaing it. The mix between the present time and the past time was one of my favorite things at ‘Reckless’. The author chose to tell and show us Milly and Christian’s story in a different, but great way. I loved those flashes from the past and they way Milly would still talk to Christian. It showed that the story has a strong background, which means that the author tought the story before she wrote it down.

There are twon plot twists that will shock you an will change the story entirely.

Now to the characters.

As I said before, in the beginning, I didn’t like Milly at all. She was really stupid and she acted like a brainless brat. But as the story goes on, we get to meet the real Milly, the one who isn’t hiding behind a wall of indiference. Milly is a sweet, determinated, caring, smart and funny girl. She can get scared sometimes, but she sure as hell knows how to stand up for herself. The way she cared about Rose and her coursins showed her true self.

Jerome is a great guy. I really liked it. A lot. Even though, I have to admit… I feel like I don’t know his personality that well. But maybe I didn’t focus my attention enough on him, or maybe the author didn’t. But he’s a great guy and he’s perfect for Milly.

Ava. I didn’t like her, honestly. She was selfish, crazy in a wrong way, a bad influence for Milly and a bad friend. I didn’t like her.

Same thing with Pierre. I felt that something was wrong with him from the beginning. Such a jerk!

Milly’s parents we obviously broken. But their change of attitude near the end was a little too abrupt. I felt like it came out of the blue, to be honest.

Rose was one of my favorite characters. She was so sweet! Same thing with Milly’s cousin and with Sheily. I liked them.

Overall, the characters felt real and well portrated. A strong point of this book are the characters.

Milly and Jerome’s relationship was perfect. It was different and beautiful. It was never about sex between them. There aren’t steamy scenes in this book. Their kisses were just pure kisses. They were kissing to show their feelings, not to turn each other on. It wasn’t Jerome’s good looks that made Molly fall for him. It was his personality and the feeling that came along with him.

The writing style is oh-so-beautiful. Loved it! It’s beautiful, and dramatic, and cursive, an sometimes funny. It’s exactly the way I like it. Lo-ved it! It’s so hooking an it makes the book easy to read. I love the dialogue. It’s smart, funny, deep… and I love it! 😀

There’s so much more I hve to say about ‘Reckless’, but I’ve already wrote 4 pages and I don’t want to bore you.

Oh, one more thing. I really like the cover.

It just pisses me off that “Reckless” isn’t a bestseller already. Everyone shoudl read this book! People, this is a must read! Go read it! At least, give it a try! You might be surprised and find your new fav book. There’s so much hiding between the pages of this book that it’s overwhelming. A powerful story about a girl finding her true self, a beautiful love story and awesome characters. Highly recommended!

I was really excited about this book, but after my experience with New Adult  lately, I was a little afraid before I started it. I didn’t want to read another stupid story about a girl who falls in lve with a guy. I wanted more.

And I got more. I got so, so much more.

‘Everything between us’ was perfect. Now, excuse my words but… This book was fucking perfect.

I loved it. Really. I did.

I loved evey single world in this book. Even though I tried, I couldn’t kind any flaw at ‘Everything between us’. It’s my type of book and I am seriously happy that I’ve read it. I needed a read like this one after all those NA books that disappointed me.

Judging this book by this cover, I expected it to be a beautiful love story. And it was. ‘Everything between us’ is a beautiful love story. BUT! It is NOT just a love story. What I found in this story amazed me and gave me hope that there are still authors that write New Adult books but know how to be original.

Except of a beautiful love story, ‘Everything between us’ is a story about facing our fears, living our lifes and coping with our emotions. This book taught me that I can do whatever I want. It also taught me that I should always confornt my fears. And that nobody should tell me what I need to do with my life. It told me that following my heart is good.

There are two sides at this story: the hot, happy side where Daniel and Stella flirt and kiss and banter and sketch. The side that puts a smile on my face. And then there’s that other part, the one that makes me sad and nostalgic and that teaches me things. The broken side, where the characters are sad and broken and afraid. The side where Liza appears, where Stella panicks and Daniel is broken. The side that makes me loved this book. The side that it’s deep and meaningful. This side of the story and of the book that made it different and original.

The plot itself is quite unique. Stella is a troubled young woman that won’t leave her house. I won’t tell you why because it would be a huge spoiler. Daniel is an attractive guy who sells himself so he can make a living as a painter. Daniel is also a guy that won’t cope with his own feelings. In a weird way, Daniel and Stella meet each other and even though at the beginning they can’t stand each other, they quickly find themselves attracted to each other like magnets.Because they understand each other and they see through the masque they both put on. Their relationship is broken and troubled and hard, yet beautiful and mending and it made me smile. I loved their relationship, as weird as it is. I loved the way Stella could see through Daniel, or the way that Daniel would help Stella with her fears. They are perfect for each other.

The characters are so well created!! Stella’s mom, Liza? She was such a bitch, but I also loved her because through her I could see what a great author Mila is. I understood what a bitch Liza is from the very first moment when I ‘met’ her. But Mila did a great job with her. She created a character that is easy to understand and that shows the reader that the author knows how to creat and portrate a character.

Daniel is definitely a complex and interesting character too. He is very different and even though at first I thought he was like every hot guy in New Adult books, he is not. He can be sweet, he can be caring, loving, he can be anything he wants.

Stella is… I loved her. She is so strong and sweet and I just loved her. I wanted to hug her all the time. I wanted to take away all her fears and pain. I connected very easily with both her and Daniel, which is a great thing.

The writing is oh-so-beautiful. I loved it. Mila, if you read this, I want you to know that you are an amazing author. Really. Your writing is beautiful, neat and the text kind of flows from itself. You have a way of making the reader love it and your way of describing feelings are places and people is amazing.

I was hooked with this book all the time while reading it. It has that kind of story that, at a brief glance, looks simple. But when you read it, you realise that it’s complex and powerful and captivating.

I loved this book and I recommend it to everyone. You will love it, I am sure. You can’t not love a book like ‘Everything between us’. It’s a beautiful love story and a story about facing our own  fears.

Blog Tour: “Winning me Over” by Amber Garza (Book review)

AmberGarzaBlogTour (2)

Hello! Welcome to my blog! I am very happy to be part of Amber’s blog tour. I love her books and I especially love this one, ‘Winning me Over’. I hope my review will make you read the book. 🙂

It’s a typical boring night at work when I first meet the mysterious and sexy Colt Lancaster. Minutes after he leaves, I’m robbed at gunpoint by a masked man.
I suspect that the two events are related.
No matter how hard Colt tries to convince me that it was all just a coincidence, my gut tells me otherwise. However, the more I get to know him the more I want to believe him. Just when he’s about to win me over, a condemning secret from his past is exposed.
Then again, everyone deserves a second chance. Don’t they?

*I was provided with a free copy of this book for the blog tour. Thank you!*

It’s not a secret that I am a fan of Amber’s work. I’ve read all of her New Adult and Young Adult books and loved them all. I was very excited when I heard about ‘Winning me over’. Reading ‘Tripping me up’ I came to love Page and her craziness. So I was really happy when I found out that she will get her own book.

Well… ‘Winning me over’ didn’t disappoint me. In fact, it actually surprised me. Personally, I think that ‘Winning me over’ is Amber’s best book. I know I’ve probably said this in the reviews for ‘Tripping me up’ and ‘Star Struck’, but that was before ‘Winning me over’. And this showed me that Amber is one hell of an author. Her writing gets better and her plots are more beautiful with every book she writes.

‘Winning me over’ has an original plot. I don’t think it’s every day that you read a book about a girl who gets robbed and meets the love of her life in the same night. This is a plot that will have you hooked and will keep you guessing. I was dying to find out more about Colt and his past and to find out who was the robber. But Amber chose to keep her readers boiling, so I found out these things almost at the end of the book.

The characters are well portrated and you can easily connect with them. Paige is a leader. I loved her. She knows how to stand up for herself and how to be her own self. She is probably one of my favorite characters ever because we are so much alive. I realized it soon after I started reading the book that Paige is like my twin sister.

Colt is a mysterious character and a total sweetheart. Even though he can appear as a badass to some people, he is, in fact, one of the greatest guy I’ve “met”. Behind his tattoos and piercings, he’s got a soft, warm yet broken heart. I felt sorry for him sometimes because he didn’t deserve any of the things that happened to him. But I am happy with the way the things turned out for him. And I am done talking about Colt because if you’ll read the book I don’t want to take the pleasure of getting to know him from you.

Paige and Colt fit together like to pieces of a broken heart. Their relationship is one of those intense, beautoful and live-changing relationships. I really liked the fact that they got to know and trust each other before they got into a relationship. The lack of sappy things made this book even better.

This book focuses on the relationship and not on the sex. I liked that there is not sex in this book. It was refreshing to read a book like this.

“Winning me over’ showed me, again, how messed up our society is. Amber wrote with  realism and she was able to show the real ‘face’ of today’s society. A society that judges tattoos and piercings and our mistakes. A society that doesn’t accept different. A society where we can’t express ourselves without being judged.

“Winning me over” is a book that readers of all ages will enjoy. It’s a book that will teach you not to judge, to be true to yourself and to live your life as you wish. A story that has a little bit of everything: mystery, action, romance and even some comedy. Paige is such a mouthy person that you can’t not laugh.

A book that won’t bore you, but will have you captivated between its pages until the end. Definitely recommended!

(The first meeting)

Without paying attention to my surroundings, I turn to my left to walk toward the row closer to the door where a seat is available. I take a step and collide with a hard body, almost toppling me over on the ground for the second time in less than an hour. A strong hand grips me firmly by the forearm. My body stiffens and my breath catches in my throat. It’s as if I can’t move besides yanking my arm free without looking up to see who I collided with.

“Are you all right?” he asks me in a deep and calm voice.

My eyes wander from my red Converse to his dark boots. I have to calm down. I’m being ridiculous. Calm down. I take a deep breath and look up slowly. Long, muscled legs in beat up dark blue jeans, an old black leather jacket open over a dark grey V-neck sweater that showcases an impressive tall body with broad shoulders and finally, longish and messy black hair, perfect straight nose, full lips, high cheekbones and expressive soft dark eyes that lock with my bluish-greyish ones. He looks older with his goatee perfectly trimmed. A perfect hot mess many girls would say. I’m just intimidated by this stranger, though.

“I’m fine,” I reply, my voice even. I push away some of my untamed locks and curse my auburn frizzy hair that is always all over the place.

*I was provided with a free copy of this book for the blog tour. Thank you!*

I wanted to read this book since I saw the cover and read the blurb. The cover is gorgeous (and I think it has a lot to do with the story) and the blurb is very ineteresting. It seemed like my type of book.

Oh my! I am speechless and amazed! “Patch up” is a book that had blown me away! WOW!

I seriously didn’t epect to like it so much. Nor did it expect it to be such an amazine book. “Patch up” pleasently surprised me and overwhelmed me. It’s really hard to write a review for such a book, because there are so many things I’d like to say yet I can’t find my words.

I am dumbstruck after reading this book because it had suck a powerful impact on me! It made me realize, once again, how many monsters are on this Planet and how many horrible things can happen to good people.

I don’t really like book about abuse, because they scare me. They make me afraid that something like this could happen to me. But this time? I loved it. Yes, it did scare me, but it also made me realize that it’s not the worst thing that could happen to someone. It made me see that there is life after an abuse.

Let me tell you why I enjoyed ‘Patch up’ so much and why it had such an impact over me.

First, the story is so complex and sad and tragic and real that it kinda overwhelmed me. This is the kind of story that haunts you. And it’s so powerful that it’s blowing you away. Skye’s story is also very real because the feelings are very well described and you also realize that things like these happen in real life.

Also, there are so many things happeningg and Skye’s character changes so much from the beginning until the end that you almost forget how the things and Skye were in the beginning. I don’t really know how to describe this story and what it made me feel. You just hav to read the book and see by yourself.

Skye. Oh my, I think she is both a strong woman and a coward. A strong woman because she still goes on with her life (if you can call it a life) after what she went through, and a coward for allowing Sean to treat her like that and for not standing up for herself in fron of him. How could she allow him to do such awful things to her??If I were in her place, he would’ve been in a hospital after the first slap. But I think her parents are to be blamed more than her. They haven’t prepared her for something like this. My parents often tell me what I have to do if my future boyfriends would touch me in an inappropiate way and I would never allow some boy to treat me like that.

Duke. I think I just found my new book boyfriend. Oh my, delicious! I haven’t developed such a strong crush for a character in a long time. PER-FECT!

Skye+Duke. They are soo…. sooo… what’s the word? Lovely? Naaah. Special? Maybe. I think I’d describe them as broken and fitting. They were complicated, broken and sometimes impossible. Their story is that story that is so complicated and sad, yet so beautiful! I loved the fact that they were, above all, best friends. There weren’t sappy things between them and I just loooved that they didn’t say ‘I love you’l until faaaaaaar in the book.

Yes, ‘Patch up’ is a New Adult book. But no, there aren’t many cursing words. There was only one sex scene but believe me when I tell you, it was so intense that it was enough.

I think this book should be a bestseller. Everyone should read it because this is the kind of book that is really worth reading and spending your money on. People should read it and realize that their life isn’t as awful as they thought.

Skye and Dule’s story taught me to flight and be strong. It showed me that the right person can help you a lot.

God I haven’t written such a long review in a long time. I think it’s time for me to stop and for you to pick up this book.

“Patch up” is one of the best books I’ve read this year. With a beautiful yet heartbreaking story that haunted me, this book made me read all day without stopping. Bravo to the author for writing such an emotional rollercoaster and a brilliant book! I absolutely loved the story, the writing style, the characters, the book itself.

Highly recommended!

Well… oh my, what a ook! It’s one of those books that has you captive under a spell and you can’t escape it. I loved everything about it but unfortunately, I read it too fast, in only one day! I wanted it to last longer!!
“Out from under you” is a book that obsesses you and consumes you and you become so involved into the story that the world around you simply disappears.
This book made me feel such strong emotions that sometimes it overwhelmed me. I felt heartbreak, anger, joy, hate and even love sometimes. And I loved this thing. I always love a good book that makes you feel so many powerful emotions.
OMG, the story! It’s ah-ma-zing! It’s the kind of story that is so real and you feel like you lived it on your own skin. Complex, dramatic and real, the story will have you hooked from the beginning. The love story will make you cry, laugh and swoon. In the beginning I felt like Lia and Grayson’s story is impossible and I felt so heartbroken because it seemed unfair for Lia to live with that kind of love for someone she could never have. I was angry with Grayson for choosing to live with a bitch like Alex.
Speaking of the characters… WOW! So well created and portrated! I felt like they were real people. The kind of people that make mistakes, the kind of people that you love or hate.
Before reading the book, I kept reading reviews were Grayson was described as a jerk. Well, sometimes he was. Sometimes he annoyed me so much that I wanted to kill him. He was selfish, undecided and stupid. I couldn’t believe what he did to Lia and how blind he was. He just used her and then threw her away. But there were some other times (like when she stopped being Alex’s desperate puppy) that I really loved him
Lia. Well… she was in love. I couldn’t blame her for anthing she did. Maybe she was too soft with Alex.
Ugh, Alex! Such a desperate-for-attention, selfish, stupid, pathetic bitch! Everything was about her! UGH I soooo hated her!
I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I bet it will be as good or even better as the first one.
Overall, “Out from under you” is a brilliant book. Captivating story that will have you at the edge of your seat, easy to read, incredible characters, heartbreaking yet joyful love story and an oh-so-beautiful writing style. Highly recommended!

Blog Tour: “Incomplete” by Lindy Zart (Book Review)

Incomplete Tour

By- Lindy Zart

Expected Publication Date-September 6th

Incomplete by Lindy Zart

There are three absolute truths in Grayson Lee’s life:

 1. His existence was a mistake.

2. No one is good enough for his best friend, Lily Jacobs, especially not him.

3. He loves her anyway.

Amazon Kindle-

*I was provided with a free copy of this book for the blog tour. Thank you!*

This is the first time when I’ve read a book written by Lindy Zart. But it won’t be the last, that’s for sure.  Because… I loved “Incomplete”. Deeply.

If  I should describe ‘Incomplete’ I would describe it as a book that breaks your heart but also mends it. While reading “Incomplete” I felt a constant pain in my chest. And figured that my heart was breaking. It was breaking for the characters, for their stories, for what they were going through. My heart broke for the tragedy of this story.

BUT! Lily and Grayson are so cute together and their moments together mended my heart. I wanted to giggle at how cute they are together. I mean it was obvious from their actions and feelings that they were meant to be together. They are probably one of my favorite couple ever!

The writing is oh-so beautiful! I am mentally kicking myself for not writing down some quotes that I liked. Lindy made me love her fast – you can’t not love such a beautiful writing! People, she is so talented!

I was furious many times while reading this book. Furious on Lily or furious Grayson or furious on them being mad on each other, if this makes any sense. But I so waned them together and when something came between them and made them fall apart, I was mad.

I quickly grew attached to Grayson. Boy, he’s such a sweetheart! I wanted to hug him so many times. My heart was breaking for his misery and ache. He is such a good boy and he obviously didn’t deserve the life he had.

As for Lily… well, I had mixed feelings for her. One second I was loving her, the other second I wanted to kill her. I didn’t like her when she took decisions for someone else. I was furious on her for breaking Grayson’s heart! But then I was loving her again. Because, after all, she is a lovely woman.

There is a major plot twist at some point that will have you crying or screaming or throwing your Kindle or book out of the window. I had the urge to punch something when I read that scene- maybe Lily’s face. No, I was just kidding.

The feelings were so well described you could actually feel Grayson’s love! I felt everything he felt. Joy, heartbreak, love, anger, misery… I felt it all. And I loved this thing. I love a book that can get you these feelings.

Of course I want to read the next book. I want it immediately. The first book ended with sort of a cliffhanger and it left me craving for more. I can’t wait to get more of Grayson and maybe Lily.

I absolutely loved “Incomplete”!!! It’s one of the most beautiful, most tragic love story I have ever read. Lindy made me want to read her other books. And I will, as soon as I can. And thank you, Lindy, for bringing me another reason to love books.

“All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… fucked up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs make a right.”

Tess is Q’s completely. Q is Tess’s irrevocably. But now, they must learn the boundaries of their unconventional relationship, while Tess seeks vengeance on the men who sold her. Q made a blood-oath to deliver their corpses at Tess’s feet, and that’s just what he’ll do.

He may be a monster, but he’s Tess’s monster.

Sneak Peak into Quintessentially Q…

I thought I would be her nightmare—her terror and darkness. I wanted to be. I needed her more than food or sunlight. Only when she came into my life did I start to live—intoxicated by her taste, screams, and joy.

But our fucked up fairytale didn’t exactly have a happy ending.

My Tess.

My esclave—so strong and fierce and sexually feral—wasn’t strong enough for what happened.

Her cage wasn’t me anymore.

It was them.

*Chapter One*

All I could think was—she’s dead. She had to be. All that blood, so bright with a coppery tang, almost sweet.

Her snowy skin was extra frosty, grey-blue eyes closed to me.

Rage and terror strangled as I fell to my knees in the warm puddle of crimson. The whip in my hands was slippery with sweat, and I hurled it away in disgust. I did this. I let myself go and showed my true self. The monster inside ruined the only brightness in my life.

“Tess?” I pulled her into my arms, dragging her cold, lifeless form closer. Blood smeared over us, and her red-welted body oozed with damnation.

“Wake up, esclave,” I growled, hoping an order would force those dove-blue eyes open. No response.

I bent, pressing my cheek against her mouth, waiting endlessly for a small puff of breath, a signal I hadn’t gone too far.

Fear stopped my heart, and all I wanted to do was rewind time. Rewind to a simpler place where I lived with needs and urges, but never let myself believe I could be free. Rewind to the day when Tess arrived, and I promptly sent her back to her silly boyfriend Brax. At least if I did, she would be safe and my life wouldn’t have ended.

At least then, Tess would be alive.

My demons killed her.

I killed her.

I threw my head back and howled.

“Q. Q!”

Something sharp bit my shoulder and I flinched. Rolling away, I tried to ignore the call. I deserved to stay in this endless hell. The hell I created for killing the one woman who stole my life and showed me an emotion I never dared dream for: love.

My cheek smarted as if someone slapped me, blazing through the darkness with a bite of pain.

Eyes snapped open to a wild-eyed, blonde goddess on top of me. The debilitating terror wouldn’t leave, even though she was alive, and glaring at me with passion I grew to know so well.

“What the hell, Q. That’s the third time this week. You going to tell me what you’re dreaming about to warrant howling like a werewolf?” Tess pinned my shoulders to the mattress and I couldn’t stop muscles from tensing. I liked her on top, but didn’t like her holding me as if she was in control. It wasn’t how I worked.

“None of your business.” I rolled, grabbing her hips to pin her beneath me. I risked a small smile. With her under me, my world righted again. I ran hands over her waist, up her throat, to her lips. Her breath fluttered, coming faster and the rest of my panic receded.

She was still breathing.

I hadn’t killed her.

*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!*

I first heard about this book when I participated to the cover reveal. I fell in love with the synopsis immediately. I was sooo happy when I received a copy for review!!

What I expected from this book? I expected a spoiled main character, a hot guy and a common love story. I expected a book with lots of music, a dramatic story, lots of paparazzi and a common writing-style. But hell no, I didn’t get any of that and I am so glad! I got an amazing main character, a hot and smart guy, an unusual and oh-so-beautiful love story, not a lot of music, a dramatic but yet happy story, no paparazzi and an unique and oh-so-poetic writing style! I got a totally surprising and different book.

I so, so loved this book! I loved every word of it and every scene! It’s such a sweet, fun and intense read! I will follow this series for sure, because I fell in love with Elyssa’ writing and story.

“Stay with me” is a journey of finding Hailey’s true self. It’s a sweet and sexy love story. Caleb and Hailey make such a sweet couple! It’s obviously that they are made for each other. While Hailey is a little insecure on herself, Caleb is confident and super hot. He helps her in her journey of finding herself, love and the life she wants.

Ok, so I’ve always thought that being famous and rich and having everything you want is such an amazing thing! But after I read “Stay with me”, I questioned this statement of mine a little. I mean, ok, I love music. I’d do anything to be famous violinist. But I also love my mom. And I want my own life. So after I’ve  read ‘Stay with me’, I’ve never once sayed that I’d do anything to be a famous violinist again. Because this book showed me that there are more important than money and famous.

I loved to see how Hailey goes from a sad, self-conscious girl to a proud, happy and loved woman. It was a great journey, full of nice moments.

Caleb… whoa! The guy is perfect! He knows how to use words in his favor. And he is hot!

Now, as for the writring style… O.M.G. It was AH-MAZING! It was so poetic and so beautiful and so… soo…. PER-FECT! I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful and I didn’t expect myself to be jealous of Elyssa. I mean, seriously! Who wouldn’t like to write in that way? I know I would!

A character I adored? Caleb’s sister! She is so funny and gorgeous and independent and strong. She is soooo me! I mean, she acts like I do, she speaks like I do and she thinks like I do. So yeah, I kinda loved her!

I really, really loved “Stay with me”. It’s an amazing read, with an intense, yet bright story, with well portrated characters and a perfect love story. It’s the kind of read that hooks you from the beginning and you still have a hangover even after 3 weeks after you’ve finished it. It took me a while to write this review because I didn’t know how to describe it. I still don’t like my review and this is why I consider that you should read the book and find out how amazing is by yourself.

I gladly give this book 5 stars out of 5. Now go read it, you won’t regret it!

Review: “Price of a Kiss” by Linda Kage

price of a kiss

*new adult romance*
**explict scenes and language**

I don’t care what my cousin says; I am not the queen of impossible relationships. I mean, just because my last boyfriend tried to kill me and left a bit of a scar on my neck, then forced me to move across the country and legally change my name to Reese Randall to escape him, does not mean—

Oh, who am I kidding? For a freshman in college, I have to have the worst dating track record ever.

It’s no wonder love is the last thing on my mind when Mason Lowe enters my life. But the chemistry between us is like bam! Our connection defies logic. And he’s just so freaking hot. Being around him makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt before. I even like bickering with him. He could be my soul mate…except for one teeny tiny glitch.

He’s a gigolo.

Boy, do I know how to pick them.

*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!*

OMG! I finishd this book a couple of minutes ag and I seriously feel de need to fangirl over it! I mean, seriousl! I freaking loved this book! It was PER-FECT!

“Price of a kiss” captivated me, in the first place, with its sexy cover and intriguing synopsis. When I got the book, I wanted to check out just the first page. But I couldn’t stop reading. After I read the first page, I turned the pages until I was 70% through it.

Linda’s writing, story and characters rocked my world for a day. I was completely in love with Reese by the end of the first chapter She’s one hell of a character! I loved her sense of humor and her sarcastic remarks. I loved her for being sooo me! Her protectiveness , love and loyality towards Mason and Sarah made me melt.

Linda’s writing-style is bestseller-like. I don’t know if this expression even exists, but it describes Linda’s writing and book very well. I know we will hear of Linda as a bestseller author. She totally deserves it.

“Price of a kiss” is a read I’ll never forget. It’s very unique and fun. I mean, seriously! How many times do you read a book about a gigolo and still thinks it’s one of the most beautiful, full-of-emotions book? This is because “Price of a kiss” isn’t an annoying book where the main characters hook up in the 2nd chapter and they talk only about sex and there are a tons of steamy scenes. No. “Price of a kiss” is a book about friendship, about dealing with your demons, about supporting the one you love, about trust and about love. This book taught me that I shouldn’t judge the cover or the  appearance. It showed me, again, how hard and unfair life is.

There were scenes of all kinds in this book. Funny scenes, intense scenes that made me cry, action-filled scenes, fight scenes and even a steamy scene. In less words, “Price of a kiss” is a book that has everything I’ve ever wanted from a ook.

Reese and Mason. I loved them together! They are perfect for each other! They are both funny and the banter between them made me laugh so hard! The sexual tension and chemistry between them was palpable. I loved how they tried to resist each other. I had to wait so long for a kiss! I loved how they understood and loved each other. There was a time in the book when I was afraid that nothing will happen between them, but the ending (not only the ending) made me completely happy.

The last 90% of the book made my heart beat faster. It was full of action and suspense! Loved it! The epilogue was perfect, btw.

I couldn’t find any flaws in this book. So, to describe ‘Price of a kiss’, I’ll use the word “flawless”.

‘Price of a kiss’ is the kind of book that makes your blood boil. This book is also the kind of book that makes you put down every ook that you’r reading and pick up this one. Absolutely loved it! People, start reading this book! You won’t regret it, I promise!

I am totally happy to say that I rate this flawless book with 6 stars out of 5! ❤
