5.Who or what inspires you? I am inspired by books, films, music and places. However, most of my initial ideas aren’t based on anything until I start planning.

6.Which is your favourite book series or book? Oooh that is a hard one because there are so many, but I think I would have to say The Iron Witch series by Karen Mahoney

7.Why? Because I am on the last book in the series now and I’m loving it!

8.Which is your favorite movie? Another hard one… I’m not sure, I love the Disney films but I do like the hero films too such as Iron Man.

9.What advice would you give to someone who wants to publish a book? Look into all your options and don’t dismiss self-publishing straight away. I have found it a great experience, a lot of work but a great experience and I have learnt so much for from it.

10. What kind of music do you like? I like any but my preference is R&B or Pop music

11.Did you ever want to be a mystical creature? That would be cool. I think I’d like to be one that could fly as although I am scared of heights I’ve always loved to know what it feels like to fly like a bird.

He smiled that Mason smile that set me on fire all over. Then he put one hand on the other side on the hospital bed and the other lifted toward my face. I waited, bated breath, gulping, sweaty palms, fluttering eyes, the works. His face got so close before he stopped. I thought he had decided against whatever he was doing he waited so long. I began to pull back in disappointment, but he reached behind my neck gently and pulled me to him. The barest of touches was the best way to describe our first kiss. It wasn’t really a kiss at all. His bottom lip barely brushed my top one. When he leaned back and opened his eyes, he must’ve seen the confusion and frustration in my face.

He chuckled. “I just had to taste that coconut…” he licked his lips, “but I don’t want to kiss you when you’ve been angry at me and I messed up our date.” He said ‘date’. Like…a date. “I want to kiss you when if we go another second without it, one of us will combust.”

My breaths were raging. I tried to calm myself. “I…” I failed.

“I want to give you back your first kiss, the one that jerk stole from you. And I want it to be something that even a coma can’t make you forget.”

Damon knelt before them.

“Will she get better? Will she…” Prince’s voice trailed off.

Her eyes locked on Damon’s face as he regarded her thoughtfully. His hand came up and she flinched as it rested on the top of her head. No pain came. She felt…nothing. If he tried to speak to her, she couldn’t hear him.

“No,” he said finally. “There has been damage to the brain. There is bleeding and swelling inside.”

Prince’s cry startled her, almost as much as the sudden clutching of his arms around her. “Can you do anything,” he choked out. “Please, I am responsible. I can not…I will pay–”

Damon chuckled. “It is not your life that needs saving.” He stared at Prince for a long moment. “I see.” He shook his head. “Perhaps I was wrong and she isn’t the one. I read so few pages of the book.” He turned to Kei.

“No,” the Fey said. “I don’t remember.”

“Dragos, I beg of you,” Prince began again.

“The Elven prince begs, and for a human. How very far you have fallen.” He looked down at her again.

Blinking up at him, she tried to get her scattered thoughts to work. She’d barely comprehended what he’d said past the inference she was dying. The words sent an icy chill through her body. Terror crawled through her, speeding her heart. Sweat broke out on her forehead and all she could hear was her increasingly frantic breathing.

Kei startled her, leaning forward over her to press a kiss to her forehead. She tilted her head back, trying to see him.

“I’m with you.”

Damon’s fingers brushes her cheek, drawing her attention back to him. “Do you wish to live, young Arowyn?”

Words refused to pass her lips. Somehow she managed to nod. She didn’t know what the cost would be, certainly there would be one. Right then, she didn’t care. Rot it all, she wanted to live!

“Very well.” He regarded her thoughtfully for a moment. “Dragos rarely heal others. I do know the magic, but it is difficult. Your story has barely begun. I find I would actually attempt it, just to see what you might become and how it will unfold.”

He sat back and gestured to the pile of furs next to him. “Lay her down. This will take some time and I’ll need no distractions.”

Prince carefully set her amongst the furs, arranging her arms so her hands rested on her chest, tucking stray locks of hair behind her ears. Leaning forward, he rested his forehead for a moment against hers.

“Get well, Arowyn.”

Bo appeared next, smoothing the hair back on the top of her head and squeezing one of her hands. “You can do this, pup.”

Garen pressed his wet nose against her temple. If he spoke, she didn’t hear him.

Kei pushed the wolf aside and took her face in his hands. His eyes glowed with that strange orange inner light. Tears streaked down his cheeks. Despite the awkward position he leaned down and held her close for a moment. “Remember our promises,” he whispered in her. “I’m always with you.” He choked on a sob and squeezed her tightly again. “I love you,” he whispered fiercely before quickly pulling away.

She wished she could speak. More than anything, she wanted to tell him she loved him, too. She wanted to tell all of them she did. Tears filled her eyes and slid down her face.

Damon knelt beside her and turned her head to look at him. “I will do what I can,” he said. “However I can’t guarantee it will work. I have never tried to heal a human before. Understand?”

She managed a faint nod and pressed her quivering lips together.

He glanced up and gestured the others away. “Stand back and be silent.” His eyes found hers again. “Don’t fight me this time, little one. Fall into my eyes…”

Blinking once more to clear the tears away, she tried to do as he asked. Damon’s eyes were strange enough she found it not difficult to stare. They had vertical slits and no whites at all. The iridescent color was a wash of blue-green with streaks of gold and red. The colors began to swirl, making her dizzy as she tried to watch them. A comforting thrum emanated from his chest, soothing her as his power wrapped around her. Her thoughts drifted into nothing.

A few minutes later, she found a very irritated Seraph tapping her foot on the porch.

“What took you so long to answer the dang door?”

Bronwyn laughed, “You came to a vampire’s house in the daytime.” She stood aside and let Seraph come in. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” Bronwyn asked dryly.

“I take it you haven’t seen the news then?”

“No, you woke me up.” Seraph snapped her fingers and an IPad appeared in her hands.

There was a picture of what looked like some sort of mass murder. Bronwyn groaned. “He’s gone crazy. You need to end things with him once and for all, Wyn”

“I have; two days ago. After we talked, I did a lot of thinking and I ended it with him. He showed up at Brock’s house last night and attacked someone.” She raked her fingers through her tangled hair. “I don’t know what to do about this. He’s my sire, I’m not his.”

Rider emerged a moment later wearing only a pair of black sweats. Seraph smiled broadly when she saw him. “It does my heart good to see you here, Rider.”

He kissed her cheek. “Mine, too. What are we talking about?” Bronwyn handed him the IPad; he frowned as he read it.

“I guess we know what he was up to after the party, last night.” Bronwyn nodded.

“Well?” Seraph demanded, her hands on her hips.

“Well, what? What exactly do you want us to do about it?” Rider questioned.

“Something, I don’t know. Don’t you care?”

Bronwyn sighed, “Of course we do; but I told you, there’s not a lot we can do. Ronan is old, we can’t overpower him.”

“Don’t you all have some sort of ‘higher power’ to appeal to?” Seraph asked incredulously.

Rider laughed, “No, we don’t. This isn’t a child’s book; this is real life.”

“If you won’t do anything, my kind may step in,” Seraph blurted.

Bronwyn stared at her friend. “Seraphina, I would watch your tone. I love you; but vampires do not take kindly to the fae meddling in our affairs. Things have not gotten that far out of hand, yet, with Ronan. He will tire long before they do.”

Seraph glared at both of them. “Fine, do what you want. I may not be here to clean up the mess, though.” She snapped her fingers and was gone in a spray of sparkles.

Rider laughed, “Well, I guess she’s pissed.”

Book excerpt:

“Have you ever been in love?”

I spill my popcorn on my lap. “I, uh, what?” I say, swiping off the kernels. The question catches me off guard.

            “You know, in love.”

“No. No, I haven’t.” I shift on the couch, needing more space between us. “What about you?”

“Nah.” She flicks her hand toward me as if she is brushing away nonsense, but the hard look in her eyes says something different.

She points to the TV screen and the couple making out there. “Figured if you had been, then you could explain that to me.”

The guy sweeps the girl up and carries her into bed before they… you know. “Uh, sex?”

She bursts out laughing. “That too. But I was talking about what  it feels like to be, you know, in love. Totally, without question. Like, does that,” she points to the screen again, “exist?”

“Yeah, I think it exists.” I think of mom and dad—the way they kissed every morning, hugged a few moments longer than anyone else, laughed so hard they cried, and cuddled, shutting out the world, looking more content than these fakers on the screen. “It exists. And in real life, it’s better than that crap.” I say, suddenly uncomfortable by the moaning coming from the TV.

“I thought you said you’ve never been in love?”

“I haven’t. But I’ve seen it. And I haven’t ever seen anything come close to that in the movies.”

She opens her mouth as if about to ask a question, but then closes it and smiles, accepting my answer. “Well, it’s good that there may be something in life to look forward to.” She drops a kernel of popcorn in her mouth.

            “May be?”

“Well nothing is guaranteed. Who knows, I may die an old spinster.” She’s smiling, but her eyes aren’t.

I think about the movie store guy’s possessive eyes, Jesse’s chair fiasco, and Dominic’s leering, my heart. “I doubt that.”

Would love to read this series! Happy Release Day,again!

I recommend: Lachelle Redd’s books!

Today I want you to “meet” another author that I like: Lachelle Redd. She wrote  4 books and I’m very curious about them. Lachelle wrote a guest post especially for you. Enjoy! 🙂

Well hello, my name is Lachelle Redd and I am a relatively new author on the indie scene. I have always enjoyed horror, fantasy and suspense stories. I started writing early in life, elementary school. Later as I got older I had a college roommate, my best friend, who always purchased me a Stephen King book on my birthday.

Growing up took on new meaning, which mostly meant earning money at a “real job.” I had tried to get published the traditional way, but had no luck, tons of rejections. I stopped writing for a few years and started a family. Then one day one of my friends wrote a wonderful book that I enjoyed reading so much that it woke up my past dream. I started reading again and my imagination soared once more. I went back through my flash drive and dusted off some of stories. I had another influence that told me about kindle and publishing online. I tried it and getting that first good review was all it took.

I am now a member of a small publishing house, Midnight Hour, and will be releasing a book sometime this year. I will also be writing for an e-mag called Ambrosia-Arts. What can I say life has taken yet another wonderful turn for me.

Until the new book, Angel’s Den, is released, I will be promoting my self-published works. I have four books out that can be purchased through and they are: lachelle redd

The Hot Cauldron

The Hot Cauldron New

Bloodline of the Black Dragon

The Wood Sprite’s Tale (book 1 of a 3 book series)

The Evil Queen (book 2 of the series)  (I am working on book 3 hopefully will have it out in the next two weeks. In addition, book 2 is nothing like book 1)

The Evil Queen EBook

I will not hold you further as I am sure you want to get to reading my wonderful body of work. Yes, I have a sense of humor.  If you are unable to purchase at this time, I have snippets from The Hot Cauldron on my blog page as well as new short stories for you to browse.

Thank you and happy reading.
