“Don’t you have any feelings for me?” he asked, sounding sincere. His head was tilted down, his eyes looking up. He was coming to the painful understanding that I really did want his brother instead.

“No, I don’t have any feelings for you. Sorry.”

With those words I delivered a fatal wound to Adrian’s heart. It killed him to be rejected by the only woman he’d ever cared for. His emotions took a sharp turn, going from raw pain to unbridled fury. He pushed me backward with such force that I flew about fifteen feet.

“I have done nothing but love you since the day I met you. And you—you bitch—strung me along like a puppet. You are not getting away with that.”

Adrian pounced on me. He was heavier than his thin body suggested, and he weighed me down. He was turning into that monster I’d seen at the killing ritual. His nails started to claw up as he ripped my shirt apart, and left deep cuts. He kissed my chest savagely and covered my mouth so I couldn’t scream. My fangs came down, and I fought to open my lips so I could bite him. I tried to use telekinesis to get him off me, but my terrified state blocked it.

“I’m taking what’s due me,” he said with a little froth in the corner of his mouth. He ripped the zipper out of my pants as if it were made of papier-mâché. He moved his sweaty hand away from my mouth. I bit wildly at the air, hoping to land my teeth in his flesh.

During the wrestling match, I was able to slam Adrian in the nuts. He rolled off me, clutching himself. I staggered to my feet and booked it to the house. Meanwhile, Adrian fought through his pain, ran me down, and tackled me. I landed on my stomach with him on my back, a puff of dirt rising around us. He straddled me, his knees digging into the backs of my spread thighs. I thought they were going to break. When Adrian got full control over me, he got between my legs and started pulling my pants down. Then I heard the sound of his belt unbuckling.

‘Seven Seals Series’ Blog Tour: Spotlight

Seal Of Destiny

Seven Seals Series Book One
Traci Douglass

Genre: Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy

Publisher: Crimson Romance

Number of pages: 263

Word Count: 70,000

Book Description:

Love conquers all… but can it stop the Apocalypse?

Mira Herald is having the worst life ever.  Not only is she plagued by horrific nightmares starring the Devil himself, she’s now the target of a power-hungry, rogue minion, freshly sprung from Hell and bent on her destruction.  To complicate matters further, she’s acquired a stalker. One who insists he’s a divine warrior sent for her protection because she houses an ancient relic with the power to unleash Armageddon. Last time Mira checked, she wasn’t insane. Still, all this celestial mayhem is enough to drive a girl crazy.

Kagan is a member of the Scion, an elite team of immortal warriors selected by Divinity to aid mankind and save the world. After a century alone, Kagan is summoned for a new mission. He’s eager to begin. Eager until he’s informed his mission consists of protecting a woman with no clue to the power she wields. Plus, his briefing fails to prepare him for his new target’s cosmic-sized attitude problem.  As Divinity’s sworn servant, he’s required to fulfill his duty. His oath, however, does not require him to be enthusiastic about his new assignment or warm-and-fuzzy toward his new compatriot. He plans a wham-bam rescue and a quick return to solitude.

The rogue minion attacks—with the backing of a mysterious organization—and all Hades erupts, putting a fast end to any whirlwind escapes. Accustomed to staunch independence, Mira’s survival now requires full cooperation and an unwavering belief in Kagan. The battle-hardened warrior is also forced to chose: between duty and desire. Amidst the turmoil, Kagan and Mira’s undeniable passion draws them closer to each other and down a path neither expected but both yearn for, more than they ever knew.

Will love save the day? The world’s fate depends on the answer.

“Basta!” Kagan grabbed her by the arm and twisted slightly, not enough to hurt, but enough to let her know he meant business as he directed her to a corner booth. He ignored the half-full beverages and coats scattered on the seats and shoved Mira into the confined space. When the booth’s original owners took issue with his hostile takeover, Kagan dispatched them with a lethal glare. He wasn’t sure where the girl had gotten the idea his mind was damaged, but he was damn sure he didn’t like it. He moved in behind her to block her escape.

“Oh, hell, no!” After several unsuccessful strikes to his muscled physique, Mira tried to slide out beneath the table. The angle proved too awkward. Defeated, she shoved as far away as she could into the corner and propped those killer boots on the seat in front of her in warning. “You better let me out of here, asshole, before I call the cops! I caught you stalking me, pervert!”

Kagan took a deep breath. He never lost his cool in battle, and he wasn’t about to start now. “Pervert? You’re of age, si?”

Mira glared. Kagan ticked through their earlier interactions, searching for a reason behind her intense hostility. His preternatural instincts sensed her intention before her hand reached his carotid. He blocked her quickly, locking her small hand within his and forcing it to the table beneath his own. Her pulse raced against his palm. He took another swig of beer then flashed his most endearing grin. “Let’s start over.” He released his bottle and extended his hand. “I’m Kagan.”

She refused to acquiesce. Kagan spoke in quiet tones meant to calm, to reassure. “I know I’m a stranger, but we have things to discuss.” He glanced around the crowded club, at the bodies packed tight. “We can’t do it here, though—no privacy. My apartment is close. Why don’t we go there and talk?”

Mira kicked him hard in the thigh.

“Merda!” Kagan grabbed his throbbing leg. “What’s in those damn boots? Marble?”

“Let me out of here, jackass, before I sideline your baby-maker!” Mira struggled within the tight confines of the booth. As she squirmed, the spicy scent of her shampoo wafted, and he was overcome with the strangest urge to plunge his hands into the riotous mass of her hair, to feel it curl around his fingers. She tugged on the hand pinned beneath his, and his thumb traced over her thudding veins. His heart pounding along with hers. The odd tingle sped through his torso, and his mouth turned to cotton. Her gaze blazed up at him, a swirling mix of green and golden brown. He noted the dark smudges below and wondered what kept her from slumber.

Dolce Cristo! Kagan looked away, fought for control. This was getting way out of hand. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d bedded a woman, but apparently it had been far too long.

Book Description:

Love, like War, will always find a way…

War has shaped every aspect of Irena Soldan’s life—her childhood, her work, her DNA. Unaware she is the genetic host of the second Seal of the Apocalypse, Irena battles for those who cannot fight for themselves. As a top human-rights operative for The Omega Consortium, her company provides both the financial backing required to undertake her task and a charismatic, publicity-loving boss to promote her cause. Life proceeds on plan for Irena until a mysterious, sexy stranger arrives claiming to be her guardian and Irena’s path takes a sudden, inauspicious turn for both the erotic and the lethal.

Chago has always been the quiet one amongst his warrior Scion brethren—the brooding, Spanish combat expert with a hidden soft side.  A member of Divinity’s covert special forces, he’s protected humanity for more than a millennium. Still, his greatest joy comes not from the battlefield, but from tending the cattle herd on his remote Montana ranch.

Irena’s new assignment takes her straight to the heart of a bloody civil conflict in Sub-Saharan Africa and Chago’s mission demands he follow. Expecting a seething cauldron of female whoop-ass, he instead discovers a harbinger of peace amidst a world of ever-increasing violence. The explosively tense situation is further magnified by the cunning Omega Consortium leader, his ambiguous personal agenda, and an ancient foe whose audacious rise to power threatens the world’s very existence.

Despite the cataclysmic circumstances, an undeniable attraction ignites between Chago and Irena. Together, they must unravel the ancient puzzle of the Seals and discover her employer’s ulterior plans before they both become casualties of War. Soon, both are forced to choose between a past riddled with old torments or risk everything they treasure on a love capable of defeating evil incarnate.

In sfarsit am timp de citit! E geniala cartea, mi-a placut enorm!

For small-town rebel Dani Webber magic and monsters are no more real than the Easter Bunny… until the day she accidentally stops time. Dani quickly discovers that not only do supernaturals exist, but she herself is one of them. This is great news for her life-long best friend Russ, who can finally come clean about his own supernatural status and his undying love for her. Before the two can start to enjoy the long overdue relationship, Dani is taken by a powerful council of supernaturals who believe she is the Chosen One destined to save them from extinction.

As if being kidnapped and expected to save the world isn’t bad enough, an ancient prophecy warns of the Chosen One’s dark nature: “Only the truest love will keep her an agent for good.” The council believes they know who this “true love” is and, unfortunately, that person isn’t Russ. The mysterious, powerful and devastatingly handsome Seer is the last person Dani wants in her life, but when she starts having visions of a horrific future, she has no one else to turn to for help.

Soon Dani finds herself torn between two very different boys with two very different opinions of whom she can trust. With the visions getting worse and time running out, Dani is forced to put aside her feelings and work with both the Seer and Russ before an ancient evil is unleashed upon the earth.

Imi mai propun ca saptamana asta sa citesc ‘The End of Athens’ de Anthony Karakai , al treilea volum din ‘Oceans of Red’ de Willow Cross  si ‘Identified: The Maya Price Story’ de Faith A. Rice-Mills. Sper sa reusesc sa le citesc pe toate. 🙂

I was given a free copy of this book for the blog tour. Thank you!

General Opinion: I have to say that…. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! It took me by surprise, honestly. I didn’t expect to like it so much!

What I liked the most: I haven’t read read such a fun book in ages. It’s easy to follow and VERY unique!! I’ve never read a book with a painter as a paranormal creature before. And this is not the only different thing. There is a love story, but it’s SO different. I had to wait until the end for a kiss  thing that I appreciate. Holly is not the pathetic girl that falls in love with a boy and speaks just about this with big words.

This is more of a YA novel than a paranormal novel. The book concentrates a lot on normal problems that every teenager has. Problems with parents, friends, society, school and love. I love the complexity of this book!

Other good things: Omg I loved Holly! Thought in the first chapters she annoyed me because she wouldn’t say a bad word to anyone. But when she decided that this was her life and she has to take her own decision, she became my hero! She said everything I would say in her situation and I admired her for this!

This book has everything. Paranormal, action, emotions and it’s face-paced which makes it very easy to follow and read. ‘The Earth Painter’ hooked me from the first page so I read it very fast: in just 2 days.

The language is specific to a teenager. Not too complicated or elaborate neither too childish.

What I disliked: Honestly, there was a character that made me wanna punch my Kindle: Holly’s mother. UGH, I hated her! She did everything just to look good. She wouldn’t allow Holly to take her own decisions which made me wanna scream at her. UGH!

Final Opinion: Again, I loved this book! It’s so easy to read and so fun, captivating and lovely that I couldn’t put it down! Definitely one of my favorite reads this year!! I recommend it to everyone! ‘The Earth Painter’ is an amazing love story and fantasy!

I recommend it to: Absolutely E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E.!

Would I read it again: Of course!!!

Do I want to read the sequel:  YES! I do!!

My mouth fell open. Was he nuts? How was I supposed to answer a question like that?

I balled my hands into fists and put them on my hips. “What’s the matter with you?”

When he put his hands on his hips, I got upset for a moment before I realized he was still doing the mirroring exercise.

Ms. Jones suddenly yelled and clapped. “I love this. Love it! Everybody look at Holly and her partner. They aren’t just moving, they are conveying emotion with it. Brilliant!”

I went back to doing normal movements. And Theo continued to stare at me. “You look so familiar. I heard you say you just moved here, but did you move back? I mean, did you live here before…a long time ago maybe?”

“No.” I half-smiled and then bit my lip.

He was exceptionally good looking. I’d been too irritated to notice at first, but the more I looked at him the warmer my cheeks grew. The way he stared at me didn’t help. It was intense and inquisitive, and he was too close. We weren’t touchy-feely at my house so this invasion into my personal space was especially uncomfortable.

“So you’ve never been here before?” His gray-blue eyes studied me even more.

“Well…um…I’ve been to Chesnee before—to visit my grandmother before she died. Maybe you saw me around town then.”

He shook his head. “No, that’s not it. I’ve seen you up close, like this. I remember your eyes. They’re the color of the sea—just inside a coral reef, and your freckles are the stones of a volcanic island scattered along the sand. Your hair is like the sun setting over the water, shooting out orange rays in all directions.” He stared into my eyes even deeper. “You’re very pretty.”

The impact of his words slammed into me. I’d braced myself for an insult. That’s what I was used to. This was either the way he came onto girls for a hook-up, or more likely, some mean joke to get a good laugh going with the other kids. Anger bubbled up. I knew those kinds of tricks. Those were the kinds of things the kids I used to hang with did all the time. They played them on me too, when I no longer belonged in their circle.

My hands trembled, and my lips drew up to hold in the anger, but I refused to cry in front of this boy. I wanted to call him on his prank. I knew better than to think it was a real compliment, but I couldn’t think of anything clever to say.

The tears burned in my eyes despite my efforts.

“Forget this!” I shouted as I ran off the stage. Everyone’s stares bore into my back as I grabbed my backpack and made for the door. My head throbbed from ear to ear. I was dropping the class, and that was final.

Short review: ‘Finding Alice’ by Andrea DiGiglio

finding alice

Thank you to Andrea for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

General Opinion: I loved this book, but I feel a little confused because of it. I felt like the author didn’t explain the supernatural world very clear. But the book is great, the story is amazing and the characters are great.
What made me wanna read the book: The blurb and the cover.
What I liked the most: The creativity behind this book. Even if this book is a book with angels, it’s very different from all the books I read, and this is what I liked the most. The story can be confusing and complicated, but it keeps you reading, searching for an answer to every question that you put while reading it.
Other great things: The characters. Though I didn’t feel like I knew them very well, they are weird (in a good way) and different and very strong. It’s like they are coming outside of the pages.
The book is a quick read, but it needs for more attention than usualy because the story is very tangled.
The end impressed me and I was a little shocked. I’m glad I’m finally reading the second volume, because I have ome unanswered questions!!
What I disliked: The confusion that I felt while reading it.I don’t know what made me feel that way, but it annoyed me a little.
Final Opinion: “Finding Alice” is a great book, with a nice world-building, with likable characters, but I think that the authors needs to provide her writing style. I’m reading the 2nd volume now and I think that it’s better. The series is very nice and if you are a Angels lover, you will love it!!!
I recommend it to: Fans of angels and paranormal.
Would I read it again: Though I liked it, I don’t think so.
Do I want to read the sequel: Yes. 🙂

The Second Sign Blog Tour: Review

I’m really excited about this blog tour!!Happy to be a host! 🙂

Bred to believe in the war between angels and demons, Gabby has come to the conclusion that love is responsible for war, jealousy, and all the other deadly sins she can think of. So when she’s exiled to the middle of nowhere for getting kicked out of her fifth school for fighting, she doesn’t expect to meet Jake. Much less fall in love. But Jake is quickly drawn to the eerie beauty of her violet eyes while Gabby is unsettled by their undeniable connection.

When a demon guardian comes to collect her soul, she refuses to give it up. She’s not a demon. She can’t be. Her father and twin brother are angels. The demon gives Gabby twenty-four hours to decide her allegiance, and then starts killing her short list of friends, leaving a message behind: She is the Second Sign.

As Gabby and Jake begin to unravel the mystery behind the Second Sign, she learns Jake may be the key to saving her soul. But it means a sacrifice has to be made that will change their lives forever.

I was provided with a free copy of this book for the blog tour. Thank you!

What made me stop for this book? The cover and the blurb! The cover is very beautiful, and the blurb makes you wanna read the book immediately.

“The Second Sign” took me by a surprise. It  is not what I expected. It’s better. A lot  better. And I loved it.

I am still a little shocked y the ending. While reading the book,I wasn’t expecting this ending. Thinking about the beginning is like thinking about a different book. I’ve never expected the things to turn put like this. I mean, wow, what a change. And what a cliffhanger!I am impatiently waiting for the sequel. If there’ll be one.I mean,it has to be a sequel, right?

I loved Elizabeth’s style-writing. Not rushed at all, giving the details that we needed and yet very myterious, her writing will make you fall in love with the book even from the start. The book is a fast read, but also very engaging. The world building is amazing and you can see that the author has a lot of imagination from this thing. You’ll find yourself guessing and on the verge of your seat. Loved this thing!

The beginning was a little slow, but yet very hooking.Though the first chapter made me think if I’ll like the book, the second chapter and the rest of them surprised me. “The Second Sign” is a mix between YA and fantasy.

A lot of mysteries and secrets are revealed in the last 50% of the book. Though in the first 10 chapters I was a little annoyed that the paranormal part was a little forgotten, after the first 10 chapters everything about Gabby’s world was slowly revealed.

Even though the story is a paranormal story with angels,Fallen angles ,demons and the war between Evil and Good, the author managed to leave her mark on the story and made it very original and different! I loved the entire story and how myterious it is in the beginning.

I would’ve liked the characters to be more described and more portrayed. I didn’t have the best connection with the characters, but I really liked Gabby. Though she can seem the bad, emo girl, she is a good girl with a broken heart and with lots of problems.I don’t know why,but I didn’t like Max at all. He seemed the one to be devil, not Gaby. As for Jake, he matches Gabby. They are opposite, but yet very alike. I really hope they will solve their “problems”.

“The Second Sign” can be one of those books that everyone reads, every bookstore sells and that is loved by everyone. A real fantasy, mixed with a little romance and mystery. I give this book 5 full stars and a big “I love it”!!

Author bio:

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of five, Elizabeth spent most of her younger years as an avid reader with a wild imagination which led her to write her first manuscript at the age of fourteen.

Her fascination with the paranormal was influenced by the vivid ghost and demon stories of her father, scaring the crap out of her. It also led her to ask the “what if” question that propelled her down the path of the fantastical.

But, life got in the way. Elizabeth completed a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice at Northeastern Illinois University and works in the community strengthening families.

But her love of stories held, and in 2008 she found herself back into her storytelling roots and began writing again. Since then she’s published a short story in SQ Magazine, countless musings on her blog – Chandara Writes (her muse), and completed three manuscripts.

In 2012, Elizabeth signed with Sapphire Star Publishing to release her debut novel, THE SECOND SIGN, a Dark YA Paranormal Romance, slated for an early 2013 release.

Elizabeth still resides in Chicago’s south west side with her family, a household of kids, and the bliss of chaos. The good kind.  She continues to work in the community.  You can follow her journey on her Blog chandarawrites.blogspot.com 🙂

Cover reveal: “The Witch Hunter” by Nicle R. Taylor

We’re hosting a cover reveal for The Witch Hunter today. The Witch Hunter is the first book in a new paranormal romance series by author Nicole R. Taylor.

Take a look at this gorgeous cover…

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00005]

I was born into the world covered in blood, and that’s exactly the way I left it.

Ever since, I have been damned to walk the boundary between life and death alone. Unwillingly turned and left to my nightmare, I have seen men commit countless horrors and committed many of my own.

My origins shall remain unknown, my true self hidden. I have been called by many names, but in this life I am known as the Witch Hunter. I have been asleep these past 150 years, until I was awoken by a haunting call.

Zachary Degaud was twenty three when he died. The problem was, he didn’t stay that way.

Present day, he’s just another vampire with another unremarkable story. That is, until he manages to provoke a two thousand year old witch named Katrin, who wants to make him pay in the most horrible way imagined.

Along with his brother Sam, newly made vampire Liz and their only witch ally, Gabby, his only chance for survival is to summon the ancient and unpredictable vampire known as the Witch Hunter.

Zac is just looking for a way out of his psychopathic witch problems, but instead will find himself falling head first into a blood feud that has stretched thousands of years.

Aya has been asleep for the past 150 years, until she was awoken by a haunting call. The witch she has been hunting for thousands of years, Katrin, has resurfaced and marked a young, annoyingly arrogant vampire by the name of Zachary Degaud. Unless she does something, he will die a slow and painful death. He has given her an opportunity to end the witch, but does she want to help him or leave him to his fate?

Zac will get under her skin like no one else has and she just might find herself making the ultimate sacrifice before he is gone forever.

They will both have to choose sides and look deep within themselves before the end. But, what Zac learns about himself, will surprise him most of all.

Read and excerpt:

Gabby had found her grimore, her families’ book of spells and incantations, amongst some of her Grams’ things in the attic. It was only then she began to better understand her affinity with magic.

She began visiting the cemetery near the old Degaud Manor, conducting her ‘experiments’ as she called them, trying different spells and rituals that were written in the grimore. Silly things, like lighting candles, making things levitate and communing with the earth. The last was her favourite; every witch had an earth sense of varying strengths. She didn’t quite understand what it meant, but when she concentrated, she could feel living things around her. Plants, trees, insects.

That was why she was surprised at first when she met the brothers. She was sitting cross-legged in the old cemetery early last winter, feeling the shift of the seasons in the plants about her, when she began to feel uneasy. She understood later that it was her latent power warning her that she was being watched. She was startled when upon opening her eyes, she saw a man standing in front of her.

It was as if he was a statue, until he grinned lopsidedly at her. “Well, well, well. What do we have here?”

Gabby panicked a little. She hadn’t sensed the man at all and she could always feel people when she had her earth sense focused. That would mean that the man was… dead? That couldn’t be right. She scrambled to her feet and took a few steps back.

“Leave her alone, Zac.” Another man had appeared beside the first out of thin air.

The first man, Zac, rolled his eyes, “I wasn’t going to eat her, brother, if that’s what you’re thinking. She’s a witch and I don’t want her to cast any witchy juju spell on me.”

“You’re both dead,” she stammered.

“As a door nail,” Zac grinned.

“Forgive my brother,” the other man said, stepping forward. “I think you know what we are. We can’t hide from you, but we mean you no harm.”

“Vampires,” Gabby said, finally realizing. The only undead creature that she was aware existed.

“Ten points to Glinda,” clapped Zac.

“Ignore him,” said the man. “I’m Sam, the moron is my brother Zac.”

It took her a while to trust the vampire brothers, being their mortal enemy and all. She quickly came to realize that they were different, despite all their faults. Zac was always an asshole and Sam was always kind hearted, but they never hurt or compelled anyone. They’d ingrained themselves into the town as normal young men. Sam had even got a job as a gardener with help from her childhood friend, Alex.

So, when Gabby walked into Max’s, the bar they frequented after work, she smiled when she saw them sitting in a booth along the far wall. “Happy birthday you musty old man,” she elbowed Zac as she sat down.

“Please, don’t remind me,” his eyes rolled in exasperation.

“Can I get you a drink?”

“Go for it Tabitha.” They watched her retreating form. “I’ve been looking for you all afternoon,” Zac hissed, once Gabby was out of earshot.

“I was out with Liz,” Sam fidgeted.

Zac didn’t notice the gesture, he was too busy eyeballing Alistair, who had just walked in. “Uh oh,” he gritted his teeth.

Sam frowned. He knew all too well from his tone that Zac had gotten himself in trouble again. “What did you do, Zac?”

“I didn’t start it, just so you know.”

“Start what?” Sam groaned, like they needed more trouble.

“Big bad, super creepy vampire over yonder is out to get us,” he gestured towards Alistair, who was now over at the bar. “He’s looking for some black haired, blue eyed woman who’s pissed him off and he seems to think we know something about it.”

“Obviously, we don’t,” said Sam, trying to keep his voice even.

“I told him as much, but I don’t think it matters anymore,” he grimaced.

Sam sighed, “You couldn’t help but talk back, could you?”

Zac raised his hands in defence, “Hey, he came in talking like he was out of Lord of the Rings, even you couldn’t pass on the opportunity.” Looking over to Alistair, he noticed Gabby standing next to him. They were talking, and he was buying her a drink! Bloody hell, did she know he was a vampire? What kind of witch was she?

Sam snorted his disagreement, and before he could speak Zac interrupted, “Yeah, yeah. Don’t say it, bro. I get it. We can’t afford to be exposed as blood sucking parasites. Believe me. I get it.”

His brother sighed, “We have another issue to deal with.” Zac raised his eyebrows expectantly. Like they needed more issues with a vampire bent on making their life hell.  “Liz and I had a run in with the werewolves,” Sam said, not looking at his brother.

“Oh, so you want to have a go at me when you’ve been out pissing off the puppy dogs?” Zac scowled. “Did you piss in their territory?”

Sam nodded, reluctantly agreeing with his brother, “Seems like they want to claim the land bordering the manor.”

“Sounds like they already have,” Zac sneered.

“They warned us off, but given any opportunity they will attack us anyway,” he said through gritted teeth. “They’re getting bolder.”

Zac felt the anger rising within him. The dogs had threatened his brother and Liz. She was his brother’s girl, but he had fallen for her just as hard. The only thing that had stopped the wolves from attacking was the fact that the moon wasn’t even half full yet. He was thinking about the many ways to kill the werewolf pack, when Gabby sat back down at the table.

“I see Sam told you about the pack,” she said, when she noticed the scowl etched on his face.

“Wait until you hear who Zac pissed off today,” Sam changed the subject.

“Your boyfriend over at the bar,” Zac inclined his head towards Alistair.

“He’s a…” Gabby stammered, suddenly feeling foolish.

“Yeah,” Zac rolled his eyes. “What kind of witch are you that your witchy compass doesn’t work?”

“It’s serious Gabby. He could expose us all, or kill us. So stay away from him, okay?” Sam warned.

Gabby fidgeted nervously and pushed away her glass, as if she was suddenly wary of drinking it.

Zac snorted, “What, do you think he put a vampire roofie in there?”

“Shut up,” she hissed.

My review:

It’s the first time when I start a review with a question, but I can’t help myself: Where is the volume 2?! I need it RIGHT.NOW.!

When I first read about “Reviving Bloom”, I knew that it’s a good book and I will like it. But it’s better than I thought. And I liked it so much that I read it in less than a day! Yup, less than a day! That’s a record for me. 😀

I think that you’ve already figured out that I loved the book. I didn’t read a book with werewolfes I a long time, and reading “Reviving Bloom” was like a gulp of air.

I loved the story. In the beginning, the story is so dramatic that it breaks your heart.I even cried a little, because Bloom’s story was just too much of a drama. But after Pike came in the scene, there was a lot of joy and happiness that I totally forgot about the drama.

The characters are WOW! I loved Bloom, because she likes to pretend that she is rough, independent women, but deep inside her she is still a child that needs her daddy. But still, she is strong, and very funny when she is happy. Pike is adorable and as well as Bloom, he’s sooo funny. I laughed a lot at this book because of the dialogues between Pike and Bloom. They are so funny together, because they give each other a lot of taunt and you can’t help yourself but laugh. Amazing!

The plot is very interesting. I was so eager to see the meet between Bloom and her mother that I was turning the page without noticing it. Also, in the scenes were Bloom was attacked my heart was stuck in my throat and I hated so much the attacker that I could’ve kill him with my bare hands!!!

The reason why I rated this book with 4.5 stars is the punctuation. This book needs a little more editing, because I found a lot of punctuation mistakes. But a little more editing and the book will be perfect!

Humor, action, paranormal creatures, love, great story, amazing character => “Reviving Bloom”. I loved it and I can’t wait for the second book. I am sure I will love it as much as I loved the first one. 🙂

“Pike, I’m far from perfect,” I sigh, hiding my face back behind the door under the pretense of gathering the cooking supplies. I hear him hop down seconds before I feel his arms wrap around my waist.

His lips pressed to my ear and he whispers, “In my opinion you’re perfect and anyone that disagrees will have to answer to me.” Moving his mouth farther down to the crook in my neck he breathes, “Though you should know this little freckle right here might be the reason you are so perfect.” Then he takes my breath away by planting those deliciously kissable lips right on that freckle. I grab the counter in front of me and slam my eyes closed, praying for him to only move those lips if he’s going to take them from my neck to put them on my mouth, and for the first time since this madness began I thank the lord he can read my thoughts because he spins me around and gives me exactly what I was praying for.

He starts gently but when I throw my arms around his neck digging my fingers into his raven hair his lips become demanding and I part my lips so he can join his tongue with mine. We can’t get close enough, can’t get enough, and in that moment I feel fairly certain I’ll never be able to get enough of this man in my arms. His kisses taste sweeter than hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, and hot fudge sundaes combined.

Review: “Obsidian” by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

My review:

“Obsidian” is that kind of book that is everywhere and everyone is talking about it. Even though I was curious, I said that I will not read it until I don’t have all the books in the series.I was afraid that I will become addicted to the series and I will have to wait too much for the next book. But at some point, at said “It’s enough, I have to read it.” So, I read it.

Well, this book was a great surprise. Though I heard everywhere that it’s amazing, I didn’t believe that it’s THAT great. But, even though I loved it, I can’t say that it’s one of my favorite. I loved it and I became a  fan of the author, but I don’t think it’s one of my favorite series ever.

Best thing in this book? The style-writing. I LOVED it. Jennifer L. Armentrout it’s a great author. Her writing it’s so fluent and so special and I am not sure how to describe it in the right way. I guess you have to read the book to see what I’m talking about.I loved her way of describing everything. I could feel and see everything like I was part of the book and I was seeing everthing from a corner. It’s obvious that Jennifer has a lot of writing skills.

The characters… WOW! Daemon is just…hot! So damn hot! He is one of the most amazing characters I’ve ever “met”. His sarcasm and irony made me laugh everytime he was around Katy. You can’t dislike him, he is just perfect! *Ilovehimbutshhhhh* Katy, well, I loved her too. I lied her because she runs a book blog, like I do. She loves books, like I do. And, well, she always knows what to say to Daemon. Oh my, they are so funny together! Their dialogues are so funny!! At one scene (the one with the ice cream, I think), I laughed so hard that I had cramps! I love them!

“Obsidian” hooked me from the start. When Daemon appeared in the scene, I knew that something is not normal about him. He was just too mysterious and everything about him screamed “Dangerous! Not normal! Hot!” and I was sooo intrigued by him that I kept turning the page, hoping that in the next page I will discover Daemon’s secret. I had to read more than half of the book to discover what it’s going on with Daemon and when I did, I was sooooo surprised! I expected Daemon to be a vampire, or a werewolf, or an angel or something, but not an… well, you’ll see. I’ve never read a book with those kind of creatures before, so , to me,  “Obsidian” is a very fresh and original series.

So, let’s recapitulate: the author is amazing, the characters are perfect, the story is original and kind of WOW! So, GO.AND.GET.THE.BOOK! You don’t know what you miss if you haven’t read it yet! It will gets you speechless!

After her dad’s death, Katy is heartbroken. She and her mom are moving to West Virginia to start it all over again. Katy isn’t expecting something too spectacular from this place. She just want an internet connection and books. But, she meets Daemon, her hot-and-kind-of-a-jerk-neighbor,  Daemon. He is the most amazing and hot guy Katy had ever seen. Also, something about him is dangerous, but Katy can’t figure out what it is. Even though Daemon is a jerk most of the time, Katy is attracted to him…

Our heroine gets along very well with Daemon’s sister, but Daemon keeps saying that Katy is not good for his sister and tries to separate them. Katy is confused, but she doesn’t want to let go of her friend.

Strange things happen when Daemon is around. He says and does things that Katy can’t understand or explain. At some point, she is sick of this whole “mysterious-guy” thing, so she descides that is time to figure out what is going on in front of her eyes. But when she figures what are Daemon and his sister, she also figures that she is in a big danger. Daemon, her sister and some other of their kind protect Katy, but is just that easy? Do you think that Katy will be safe and sound? Well, if you wanna know, read the book. J

“Obsidian” by Jennifer L. Armentrout is a book that has everything you need from a book: great action, hot characters, an amazing writing and mystery. I truly recommend it!
